DeVries had them so amped up to beat us Saturday. It’s gonna be annoying when he’s coaching at Iowa next year. Fran is toast. And there’s no way he’s not taking that job when it’s offered.
I know Fran has hit rock bottom, but I don't think it's a given that he will be replaced by DeVries after this season.

Yes, Iowa gets Big 10 checks to cash, but their Athletic Department owes the University $50 million, plus they'd have to pay off Fran, pay WVU for DeVries's buyout, pay DeVries a ridiculous salary, and still have $20 million left over to pay all their athletes next year. Don't see how they can swing all that.

If they have a handful of big time boosters that want it done they will make it happen

I’m not really worried about finishing ahead of WVU. They probably lose at Manhattan Saturday anyways. Houston is the only one we will likely need to worry about
I'll take WVU over the pooty Tangs. Just guessing no in depth research but KSU hasn't been the same since spygate

That is certainly possible but do those boosters choose to fix their football program first?

Is the apathy around MBB too deep for them to see ROI there?

Devries appears to be doing a great job at WVU and is with out two of his best players. But is he a big enough name to draw recruits there? Iowas problem - in my opinion - is more about recruiting than anything. With exception of Garza they’ve not landed a meaningful recruit who isn’t a life long Iowa fan in about 10 years. Some of it is Fran but it seems deeper than that.

Wonder how Tucker’s injury will affect his willingness to move? If he’ll have another year with a redshirt, will he also want to go to Iowa or will he want to stay in WV? I really think that if he was done with his career it’s a lot easier for his dad to uproot again and take the Iowa job.

Iowa doesn't have boosters with pockets deep enough to cover all the financial obligations I just listed, and if they did, they'd focus those resources on football.

Not exactly sure.
Fran is either totally checked out or the worst explosion we've ever seen from him is building. This is a weird response from him.
He’s checked out. By saying what he did, he’s trying to divert the blame to the officials knowing he can hint that but doesn’t have to have a specific situation because he can’t discuss the refs.

ISU and Iowa are similar where theyre likely never going to poach a sitting High Major HC for their FB or MBB program

How is Iowa even a quad 1?
They are clinging to a Quad 1B win as they would have to drop to #76 to fall to a Quad 2A game. We knocked UCF to #76 so last night is a Quad 3 for now. UCF should climb back to Quad 2 status though.
