Weren't the rumors around draft time that the Cards were asking for a first rounder for DH? And they end up releasing him?
His cap number was really high, if I recall correctly. Not sure how the numbers would have worked out, had he been traded, but depending on how it was structured, a team might have acquired him, but the Cards would have still been paying part of his salary, so he would be fairly cheap. At his best, Hopkins was one of the top 5 receivers in the league. He hasn't been that in a while, tho, and he's on the wrong side of 30.

Cardinals are looking at a pretty crappy year, so they bite the bullet and get his dead money off the books in a year when they won't be competitive, anyway.

Bills and Chiefs have basically no cap space.. So he'd sign a 1 year deal to win a title before testing free agency. It'll be interesting for injured 31 year old, what free agency can bring

If the Texans don't greatly improve their is a strong chance the Cards could have the first two picks of the draft next spring!
Cards in full tank for a Marvin Harrison pick.
Arizona would be idiots if they didn't trade Murray and draft Caleb Williams #1 and hope Houston's pick yields them Marvin Harrison Jr

Agree but not sure it will be easy to find a team to take on that Murray contract.
