Ya holy ****. Mortgaging their future to get to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

It’s Minnesota. Consistently getting to the second round is a level their franchise has never been at. Let’s not act like they’re in a place to be only making moves if it makes them a title contender.

True but for “non-desirable” locations feel like building through the draft is the way to beat the odds.

They did build through the draft. They got two stars that way, one who has the potential to be a truly elite guy. They should be a playoff team for the next few years. You don’t build through the draft with picks in the 20s and free agents aren’t lining up to come to Minnesota either.

They wouldn’t be able to take on another max contract once Edwards rookie extension hits. Now they have bigger trade assets if the Towns Gobbert twin towers thing doesn’t work out.

Testifying
Reading thru some long Athletic NBA stuff.
They honestly think one of the most feasible landing spots for Durant would be Toronto.

They were working thru Suns deals and need to get Utah involved to make it happen, and Brooklyn couldn't land Donovan Mitchell in any way because of a CBA issue. Utah had some interesting scenarios with Durant and Ayton because of what they got for Gobert.

And I might have misheard it...but was listening to the Score last week and they said Gobert has a $47 million payday coming after 2 seasons. So whatever they pay for him this coming season and the following one...fine...but in 3 years will he be worthy of a $47 million roster spot?
