At first glance, Fran appears to have scheduled a tougher OOC schedule than us for a change. My hunch is the results will make him never want to do it again, though.

Although I don't pay close attention to UI scheduling, you got me curious. Definitely some heft, pending Big East & ACC opponents.

Among the non-con games:
vs. Big East team (Gavitt Tipoff)
Clemson and Cal/TCU (Emerald Coast)
ACC-Big Ten (opponent & site TBA)
vs. Duke (Jimmy V)
Iowa State
(Others scheduled: Bethune-Cookman; Omaha (Emerald on-campus game).

(Also: F*** Iowa)

What really surprises me is the Duke game on neutral court. No Coach K, so there isn't as much shine, but they are still Duke until proven otherwise. I'm guessing it's a game Fran never schedules if Coach K is still there.

The Emerald Coast Classic was a bit of a surprise too. Like you, I don't really follow their scheduling year to year, but it doesn't seem like they do pre-season tournaments very often.

Iowa State hosts McNeese on December 11 two days after they play UNI in Cedar Falls.

Makes so much sense for Iowa State and UNI to work together for buy games.

Rocco Miller comes through again.

That's 13, should be done.
I'm missing one, then (my "floating TBA" is both for opponent and date ... it has to be either between 11/7 and 11/20 or another after 12/21).

My list:
Nov. 7 IUPUI
Nov. 20 Milwaukee
Nov. 24 PK85
Nov. 25 PK85
Nov. 27 PK85
Nov. 30 North Dakota
Dec. 4 St. John’s (Big East-Big 12 Battle)
Dec. 8 at Iowa
Dec. 11 McNeese State
Dec. 18 Western Michigan
Dec. 21 Omaha
Jan. 28 at Missouri (Big 12/SEC Challenge)

Thanks.

I hoped for an additional non-cupcake, although I didn't expect it.

Summary of non-con, by conference, pending PK8 matchups. (Subject to verification)

Horizon (2)
Summit (2)
Big East (1)
Big Ten (1)
MAC (1)
MEAC (1)
SEC (1)
Southland (1)
I'd love to see a couple games a year against the tier that they're skipping (MW, A10, MVC, WCC, New AAC) but I get it. Teams at that level don't necessarily take a buy every year and they're much more expensive. Would just make the pre-conference a little more interesting.

Just to clear any confusion, I'm not advocating UNI/Drake.

Just thinking through that list: WCC and nAAC don't really excite me except for the top teams (Gonzaga, St. Mary's, Memphis), who would all probably require a home-home or neutral. MW is similar, although none of them are at the level of the aforementioned. A10 after pulling the transfers we did this off-season seems like a great idea, and MVC is a natural fit. If we could pull a low-mid tier MVC team as a buy every year that would be great.

What a snoozer this year. Aside from the PK85 I don't see any real natural opportunities for Q1 wins. Big 12 play should take care of that, but this is a pretty weak non con slate. Doesn't help we got lame pairings for the SEC and Big East challenges

I proved last year that the formula is to just win baby! The slate isn't as weak as everyone thinks either. We are guaranteed 3 pretty tough games out in Oregon plus on the road at Iowa. I hate the cupcake games but this team will need those this year.

You're good.

Only missed the powerhouse of North Carolina A&T on 11/7
