Wonder what Joe Yesufu would think of that? Won’t be surprised if his stay in Lawrence is short lived

Pretty clear Yesufu overextended himself when choosing Lawrence. I suppose he does have 3 years of eligibility left though.

Well it won't happen, but second even if it did the path opens up for more playing time after this year. He came off the bench at Drake, I don't think he expects to start at Kansas this year.
Even if he’s fine coming off bench, how much PT will he get?

Guards he’ll compete for minutes with
Ochai agbaji - 14 ppg at KU
Remy Martin - 19 ppg at ASU
JCL - 10 ppg at 3 P5 schools
Christian Braun - 9.7 ppg at KU
Bobby Pettiford - top 100 HS
Kyle Cuffe - top 100 HS

Braun isn't a guard and JCL isn't really a guard either for Self. More of a wing. Pettiford and Cuffe won't play this year. Yesufu will be competing with Harris for minutes as the ball handling guard off the bench. If Yesufu can show he can guard to Self's liking, he will beat out Harris because Harris just isn't a good scorer.
I think there is also the possibility that Self goes with the two combo guard backcourt he loves and you could see either Martin and Yesufu with Braun going to the bench. And again, he was a backup at Drake and Martin and Agbaji are gone after this year making room for him to start next. He could have 3 years left. I would expect Cuffe to be gone before Yesufu.

Pettiford will barely play. Cuffe might redshirt.

Yesufu, Martin, Agbaji, Braun and JCL will basically split the 60-70 minutes a game that will be given to guards/wings. They will play some 4 guard rotations as well as a more traditional 3 guard rotation when both Wilson and McCormack are on the floor together. If max PT was his goal then he wouldn't have committed to Kansas.

JCL is best equipped to defend 4s as ISU painfully found out last season.

And I wouldn't be shocked if Yesufu or Harris ends up getting most of the PG PT due to Martin's history of looking for his own shot moreso than facilitating for others.

Dang... TTU was heading for the cellar... Sucks for us in the fact that the middle of the conference appears to be getting stronger...

Martin's last two ASU teams needed him to be a scorer so he was a 19ppg scorer. His sophomore year, they needed him to be a facilitator so he led the PAC 12 in assists. He'll provide whatever Self needs him provide.

That may change from game to game as other guys will need to step up and make threes. I am guardedly optimistic on this year's team. They should be better with the huge upgrade at starting and backup PG but returning 4 starters from a substandard KU team still gives me pause. McCormack needs to continue to improve, Agbaji needs to quit being so nice and Braun needs to quit being scared to shoot.

That's the beauty of college hoops. A new team every year for the most part so it's fun to see how the rosters develop over the season. I love seeing these kids grow and improve over their time in college.

Beard at Texas may have dollar Bill $elf pulling his toupee out.
Texas, Baylor and Kansas all look like they could be really, really good. Texas Tech, Okie State and West Virginia will also be good. KSU and ISU will both be improved. Just another season of challenging Big 12 hoops.

Will be interesting to see how the keep everyone happy at Texas especially in a slow paced offense.

The seven transfers into Texas this year averaged 83 ppg last year. Beard is going to displace Ku. Satan takes Lucifer's seat.
