Bryant has at least had some good at bats this game. That last AB might have been a HR if the wind wasn't blowing in. Baez and Rizzo just look lost out there.

It would take a pretty mighty blow to hit it out to left tod....oh. Oh no.

Poor Darvish. You can tell the guy is hard on himself and he knew he had to be perfect because he isn't going to get any support.

Missed opportunities with RISP bite us again. We score with the bases loaded in the 5th and this is a different game. But, predictable.

I know the NL central was bad this year, but I am still amazed that they won the division with how poorly they hit this season.

Most of the position players on this team need replaced somehow. They suck. Changing hitting coaches won't do anything. Cubs are done for the foreseeable future.

Depends on your definition of "done" I guess. This lineup (or a close version of it) can make it to the playoffs, but as we've seen today, they won't be able to advance until they address their inability to hit. They can't expect their pitching to be perfect, and it would have taken shutout pitching to win these two games (so far).

I am genuinely intrigued by how a collection of major league baseball players can be this inept at hitting a baseball. Like, some kind of research needs to be done or something. It defies all logic.

We are about to get "swept" by a team who does not have a single player outside of Marte that I had ever heard of prior to this series.

This would be a good time to get some payback from 2003. Late in the 8th, close to clinching, break their heart and steal the deciding game of the series tomorrow.
