For top 20 ISU will need at least two AAs. One of them probably in the top 5. I think that would be a great performance. It isn’t impossible, but I would say unlikely.

I’m looking at the team to place between 20-25. That is where you can land with 1 AA and a couple other guys scoring points.

Not exactly sure.
I am going with somewhere in the teens 13-18 type range. Have a couple 6-8 placers and have a couple make round of 12/16 with any type of bonus points along the way and this is where you land.

The draws are huge.

With 9 qualifiers, 2 All-Americans would pretty much guarantee a top 20 finish. Nobody below 20th place last year had more than 2 AAs. Most had one.

Minnesota got 17th last year with one AA (Lizak, who got 4th).

So, you might be right that we would need 2, but not "at least" two.

Technically correct, but I still think ISU would need 2 because I don’t see anyone taking 4th. Yes, you could make it with just 1 but that person would need to be top 4 and others score a few points each. Just don’t see who on ISU can place that high. Any AA from ISU is probably sneaking in a 6-8. Stranger things have happened, but this would take a pretty huge surprise.

125: Mack will keep coming at wrestlers but I see a 16/24 area as his most likely area
133: Gomez will come down to draw. Those who haven't seen him or had much time to prep are usually in for a surprise with his throw. If he can weather the first periods in good shape he can be all over the board. Should have a floor of 16 under him but pending draw could be a 5-8 placer.
141: Parker is a worker guessing 16 area for him
149: Degen had a run last year and looked good at conference. Hoping he sneaks out a low AA but see 12/16 area
157: Looking for a win out of Chase, he is wrestling well now.
174: Hoping he can pick up 1-2 wins guessing 1 probably
184: Unsure of how Sammy does, can be 12/24, don't think he places, but wouldn't be shocked at a 7/8
197: Draw is big for Willie, should low AA. Doesn't bonus point though so I hope he does his damage on the front to gain points.
285: Same as 125 in my opinion for placement. Probably 1 win, maybe two pending draw. Hope I'm wrong.

Don't disagree with anything here.

I think Parker could be a really bad draw for a highly seeded guy on the backside. If that contender isn't in the right state of mind after losing on the front side, Ian's pace could definitely make for an upset in the consolation bracket.

At 133, Cefelo and Erneste would be potentially bad draws for Austin. I think he can get Cefelo, but that matchup could happen 1st round

At 197, I could see Willie getting the 6th seed and Weigel getting the 3 seed. That is a quarter finals matchup.

I think the longer the tourney goes, I think our guys can pull some upsets.

Our points are going to need to come from the backside. Dresser teams have always done well at nationals.

Hasn't Miklus usually made his runs on the backside? Anyone remember?

Willie made quarters last year (won 2 matches on frontside) and then won 1 on backside. Semis in 2016.

His freshman year (2015) he won 1 on the front and 3 on the backside, so maybe that's what you're thinking of.

Top 15 we can expect $500 season tickets next year LOL!

Thinking in the in the 18-23 range. Which we would be happy with.

Who's we? I said early in the season that I expected 8-9 qualifiers and got blasted for being unrealistic. I don't think we wrestled exceptionally well overall at the Big 12s and expect a few of the guys to pick it up at Nationals. I can see a scenario with 0 AA or as high as 5 AA. I'm extremely happy with the progression of the team this season over last year, but there is a lot more for several of these kids to accomplish this season.

Micic at #2 is a joke after defaulting to 6th in Big 10 tourney and wrestling a very limited schedule.

Wouldn't hurt my feeling if Gomez get 10 seed and has #7 then #2 Micic in the quarters

Heard today that Micic may be hurt.

Wow White #1 Cassar #2. Leaves Gable the 3

I would have to disagree. I didn't look at all of his matches but was undefeated, highest returning AA and has wins over #1 125 Rivera, Suriano and 14-1 dec. over Pletcher. I know him apparently ducked competition at the Big 10s but his resume is the best at 133. I still think Gomez would have a better chance of beating Fix than Micic but you never know.

Gable made a mistake wrestling the Big 10 final. He would be #1 if he defaults that match
