Yesterday felt familiar, 4 years ago me & some others traveled out to Colorado to watch Iowa State & Paul Rhoads lose 34-14 to a team that had just fired their coach (sound familiar?) This is the game that Arnaud had his knee ruined in the 4th quarter unfortunately and we haven't replaced him since. All these years and we're still losing to interim coaches & FCS teams.

This year's KU team might be the worst team since the Big 12 started. Wait.

Not even close. That was Year 2. We should have already won 6 games if a holder hadnt shot put a pass into the wind to lose the game. There was a lot of hope heading into the next season, the next year was arguably Rhoads' best ever.

2010 Colorado was a painful loss. 2014 Kansas was a pitiful loss.

It felt familiar in the way of losing 34-14 to an interim coach. That got me to go back and find this box score. I agree, yesterday was worse

Way up there
KU is much worse than that Colorado team.

This is easily KU's best team in 3 or 4 years. They have size, speed and athleticism at the skill positions on offense, a dangerous QB and 2 good RBs. They aren't a good team but much better than the KU teams of the past.

That CU team was going through the motions playing under their interim guy and was a program on the verge of demolition. This KU team is a few years past implosion, they have some optimism bc they've already been to the bottom of the barrell. That CU squad would have been the equivalent to one of our next few opponents losing to us.

That CU team had way more talent than this KU squad, and just as much motivation.

This was the first game where I thought our guys just didn't show up in the pr era, and it got slowly worse after that.

No, KU is a really bad team even if they rolled us.

Me and some others drove out to Boulder for this game as well. What a waste of time and money.

This should be the Cyclone Football Poster next year....or the motto on our facilities. Think about it.....who has profited from this moped wreck? A lot of coaches have gotten some cash over the years from us dumb central iowans. A lot of young coaches and coaches sons have built their resume. That Elliot guy comes to us for cash whenever he needs it, and then thanklessly dumps us on the curb like a fat halloween bar hog.
Why even do this anymore? Has anyone had a fun experience at a bowl game? Maybe one. Heck, has anyone had a fun experience at a home game? Maybe OSU several years ago. If CPR does not acknowledge the abject failure of his regime--not so much his fault IMO, just terrible assistant coaching--then it will be truly a waste of time and money until we start over.
(What got me going was the damn shotput against Nebraska. Why?!?!?! Like the call, just got to have someone in there without baby hands. Our story)

Flew out to see this game at CU. What a cool stadium and place to play.

Anyway, it was ISU's last game at Colorado before they bolted for the Pac12, what a disappointment. I wanted us to get that last win there so it would be cemented in stone for eternity that we had beat them. Now those hippies are rolling their spliffs and pining for that easy win over ISU.

I'm to the point that I don't really give a **** about ISU football anymore. We need to somehow capture magic in a bottle with this next hire. I think the odds say it will happen, but I'm not sure if it will be in my lifetime, and I have a good 40 years left in me.

I thought the game felt similar to that game as well, except when we got killed by Colorado we had just come off a OT loss to Nebraska, Colorado had just fired Hawkins earlier in the week, and we were only in the 2nd season under Rhoads' career.
