every boxer does this, they think they still can fight, and get owned. But, it's hard to determine when your time is done. The socially competent a few and bar between. I know a bunch of people who has over 3.5 GPA and can not express their ideas at all. I also know a few defy the stereotype, but not enough to make me change my mind about engineers with 3.8+ GPA. 2.6-3.1 to me personally I considered just slackers... -

I think your exaggerating a bit, I qualified for EVERY Chem E. internship last year and I can tell you my GPA was not 3.5 (it is in the 3.3 range, which I've also been told is the gold standard for graduate school). I also had 8 interviews and turned down a few because I just applied to try my luck -

Bull, friends got internships with 3.0~ GPA's The highest fortune 500 company requirement I saw was a 3.2. 3.5 is insanely high for engineers to be a minimum. Maybe for other majors that aren't as strenuous, but most engineering companies rather have a 3.0 GPA person that has a life and shown... -

GPA is just a checkmark. For engineering, you can have a 3.37 or a 3.9 and they wouldn't give a **** as long as it is above 3.0. -

Idk about that. If you know how to sell yourself to employers with not only your rèsumè and cover letter, but also your people skills, getting through interviews with them thinking of you as a potential hire is quite simple. Problem is, a lot of people lack that ability and fail to practice it. -

I've heard GPA only matters in the first 1-2 jobs and after that it doesn't matter anymore because you have enough experience to prove if you're worth it or not -
