Clearly being in the B10 is an advantage. I have not contested that.
I am just saying that if your concern is academics then being out of the B12 and being in a non-BCS conference isn't automatically a major step down.
You're operating on the faulty premise that the B12 is going to be around to provide research money.

If this is truly your concern then getting out of the B12 shouldn't be much of an issue. What has the B12 affiliation really merited for ISU in terms of academics? If your primary concern is truly conference academia and not athletics then this question probably should have been raised long...
