NA Beers that dont taste like monkey butt

Blue Moon recently came out with an NA and it's pretty good. My girlfriend enjoyed it as it has a "juice" taste to it.

What strange foods do you like?

My grandparents would always make us peanut butter and pickle-relish sandwiches. Sweet relish preferred, dill works in a pinch. Still eat them today when I'm in a rush for lunch or craving a sweet/salty combination.

Advice for quitting drinking for a month

Be proactive and share with friends/family that you're taking a month off. In the past when I've taken breaks, hanging out with friends, going to a barbeque, and stuff like that have been the spots where I've been most likely to have a drink due to peer pressure/fomo. But I discovered by...

Best Places To Live Near DSM?

If you are open to living in city limits, my brother is planning to put his place in the Terrace Hill/Ingersoll area on the market relatively soon. It's at tops a 15-minute drive to the airport and 15-20 to WDM. He's done some work to it, but mostly exterior and landscaping, so it still has the...

You're all full of great information on this very specific question and topic. Thanks!

    OK State game time?

When do they usually announce this? Does anyone know what the time slots are that the ISU-OSU game will likely fall into? Thanks.

    Moving to Chicago

Roscoe Village, Southport Corridor, Wicker Park, Bucktown are all great neighborhoods where a lot of young families are located and have a lot of great restaurants and things to do nearby. Those locations are also some of the best bets to get a deck or patio. Unfortunately, the Field Museum...

$93 Million Gift to Iowa State for College of LAS

Well, technically the gift is an equity stake for a company, which makes them majority owner. Granted, it's an educational company, so poor grammar probably still disqualifies.

Bug Unable to view older podcasts

When accessing the 'Podcasts' page and attempting to view older podcasts by clicking on the link in the bottom left, the page loads but it still shows the podcasts on the first page. Does the same when scrolling back to page 3, 4, 5...

    What beers should I buy?

I'll be in SW Iowa, but driving I-80 most of the way. Was planning on stopping in Des Moines on the way through. In regards to styles, I enjoy most (not sours or lambics though). While I might pick up some 6 packs, I'll probably grab single bottles if possible.

    What beers should I buy?

I enjoy most styles, but my preference would be stouts or pale ales. I like IPA's, but they aren't my go to style. I can't get into sours, so that's not something I'm looking for. Thanks for this tips already. I'm aware of the breweries in Iowa, just not the individual beers that are their best.

    What beers should I buy?

I grew up in Iowa, but normally when I'm travelling back it's by air. This time I'm driving back, so I'd like to pick up some local beers. I haven't lived in Iowa for a little over 4 years now and a lot has changed in the craft beer scene. I was hoping to get some advice on what beers to pick up...

Your guide to Saturday Chicago fun

The iO theatre also has great shows. The Shakespeare improv on Saturday night is hilarious and I would highly recommend it. It's also just down the street from the Goose Island Clybourn brewpub (which often has one off beers you can't find elsewhere). As for the ketchup and hot dog issue. You...

Pep rally? Where is going to be the hangout place for most Cyclone fans in Chicago?

Re: Pep rally? Where is going to be the hangout place for most Cyclone fans in Chica You'll be fine walking to the stadium from WestEnd (or anywhere in that area) at that time of day. There will be a lot of people out and about walking to the United Center. But, the shuttle is pretty handy...

    Cyclone Bars in Chicago

WestEnd and CrossRoads are good bars on Madison. They would fall under the "sports bar" theme. I'd expect these bars might become the de facto meeting grounds for fans of all teams in town. Kaiser Tiger is a really fun bar that has a nice outdoor space. It's also close to the UC; but it's...

    NCAA Regional Tickets for Noobs

I have a co-worker who went to Syracuse; does anyone know if re-entry is possible or how that might work? I go watch the Cyclones game, then he uses my ticket to watch Syracuse? Thanks.

    Cyclone Bars in Chicago

Murphy's is the official Iowa State bar. Corcoran's still leans towards Iowa State. Not sure on Fizz anymore. They used to be a Cyclone/Terrapin bar. ^None of these are near the United Center.

Virginia Game Time: Friday at 6:10 PM Central

The solution to all of these problems is to just go to a bar in the West Loop or near UC early in the afternoon :) Won't have to deal with traffic and you can then walk to UC.

Now that we've made it to Chicago:

Re: If we make it to Chicago: If anyone does Au Cheval (which I would highly recommend), there will likely be at least an hour wait; probably longer on the weekend. But you can put your name in and then either go across the street to Haymarket or next door to Lone Wolf and have drinks while you...
