    Big 12 Refs Strike Again

That was an incredibly clear goaltend. Not any question about it. There were tons of bad calls both ways in this game. That wasn't one of them.

Flagrant 2 is two shots and the ball. Flagrant 1 is not.

    *** Official #11 IOWA STATE vs #22 Baylor Game(day) Thread ***

They called a technical on Hogue for the trip AFTER the play. They also assessed Prince a flagrant 1, which is why ISU got 2 shots, but the technical gives Baylor two shots and the ball. It was terrible officiating all around. They should've just let it go.

    *** Official #11 IOWA STATE vs #22 Baylor Game(day) Thread ***

This is brutal officiating. Prince shouldn't have been called for anything, and Hogue never should've been called for anything. Absurd. All contact was incidental.

    enCYCLONEpedia; Baylor blabberings

If you guys play the way you did on Saturday, you'll beat Texas. If you can run the ball, you'll beat Tech.

    Yep. Should've been a PF.

    Baylor's plays on offense

Depending on the front we get, we run a ton of inverted veer with Petty. Think back to what KSU did with Colin Klein -- effectively a zone read where the read is typically on the play-side linebacker. If the backer crashes, you hand off to the RB coming around the tackle to the outside. If the...

BU hold while QB in Endzone

You can't throw a pass at an engaged player. If the player is actively engaged in a block, he's not considered a pass-catcher, and thus it is intentional grounding.

    The offense last night

Bu 1-10 at Bu05 Start of 4th quarter, clock 15:00. Bu 1-10 at Bu05 Jefferson,J. rush for no gain to the BU5 (Trent, Vernell). Bu 2-10 at Bu05 Russell,Seth rush for 2 yards to the BU7 (Taylor, Trent). Seth Russell = backup quarterback. We opened the 4th quarter with our backups on...

    "Condition" of grass for Saturday?

Great stuff, CycloneErik. Minor detail -- we played OU at home in 2010, not on the road. Due to the change in the Big 12, we got OU at home two years in a row (2010 and 2011).

    "Condition" of grass for Saturday?

Baylor practices on grass every day. Our outdoor practice surface is grass. Indoor is artificial. The "issues" with grass have more to do with the team not being very good when most of those grass games were played and less to do with the grass itself.

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

1.) Available parking space at the stadium was cut by nearly 80% at the new stadium. There are VERY few spots actully at the stadium. 2.) Campus is on the opposite side of the river from the stadium. There are about 8 parking garages, plus the Ferrell Center lot, plus a lot of other parking...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

My opinion that is pretty well substantiated with facts based on what happened the rest of the season... The early part of that season, our running game was in shambles. We started strong with decent performances against SMU and SHSU, but after that, it went downhill quick. For the next 5...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

This crap seriously boggles my mind. We had the NCAA camped in our basketball offices for 2 freaking years and all they found was some impermissible text messages, which would be legal under today's rules. You're free to believe what you want, but that doesn't mean you're not still wrong.

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

Thanks for the kind words. As for tailgating this year, check out this video -- we have a little bit less space, but it's much more organized than it was before. Since we got to actually plan for tailgating, that made it a little easier. Plus, sailgating...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

I will be shocked if you guys try to press us on the outside. This is not a slight at your talent because you guys have some talented DB's, but there is no chance you guys can press us and be successful. The only two teams that had any success pressing last year were OKST and TCU, and both of...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

When you consider the number of receivers we've put in the league the past 5 years, it is somewhat surprising. However, when you consider the type of player that Briles recruits, it's also not that surprising. Briles claims that the guy he expects to be the best was a guy who caught less than 10...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

If I thought anybody would read it or do anything but flame me, I would do a long post that details why the misconception about Baylor's recruiting is..well, just that -- a misconception. But, having read this board for long enough, nobody would actually pay attention to it and would just flame...

How do Baylor WRs get so wide open?

"they run pick routes all day long and never get called for it" The "get called for it" is a clear implication that he believes they are illegal.

Oakman, Billings and Magee and Blackshear

Also, to your post, Oakman is disruptive, but he made A LOT of mistakes last year. He frequently overruns and gets caught out of position. But, he can be amazing. I can't stand Jesse Palmer, but I think he was pretty close when he called Oakman "Lebron James in pads."
