    The biggest marketing splash the Hawks made was the coaching change. That was certainly a bigger marketing splash than anything Pollard has done, including his "kids today" rant.

    That's because today's kids are too lazy to even sign their name to a letter of intent. They'd rather borrow dear old Dad's Stutz Bearcat and go dance the Charleston than do their chores. I think Grandpa Pollard is right to want to bring the hickory switch to these young whipper-snappers.

    Let's try a more real-world analogy. If your boss is so incompetent that his key employees keep quitting, and the CEO ignores this year after year, you can quit and find a better company to work for. Kudos --- you've successfully 'castrated' the MBB program.

    Keep Coach McDermott!

    The good news is that by the time ISU can afford the McDermott buyout, the NCAA field will be at a 128 teams ... so we might just be dancing within the next half-decade or so. So that's another feather in the cap of our 'marquee' program.

    I had the misfortune of going to the ISU-Ohio State game a few years back at Wells Fargo. A very lousy experience. This looks like another big money-loser for the "Well". I'm guessing they'll have to eventually add slot machines to the bottom floor to help pay off this boondoggle as well.
