    Randy Pete Retiring

    My opinion is: "meh". I haven't counted on the Des Moines Register for sports reporting since before the last days of the Big Peach. Randy's reporting has not moved me in any direction, but it is clear from the few times I have heard him or read him more recently that it was time to retire.

    I think it all depends upon who we would beat in the Big 12 tourney to win out. The championship would need to be ISU - Houston and we would be helped if Houston lost one of the next two games making us co-champs in the regular season. Beating Baylor or Kansas in the semis would not hurt...

    I am with you but shows that the grass is not always greener (at least for non football sports). When Mizzou was in the Big 8 they may not have been a blue blood but they mattered. Now …. They are a cute story when they have success.

    I am nervous too. BYU is good and if they hit their threes we could be in trouble. Particularly with Texas winning OU needs a signature win to help,their bubble status. We are a prime opportunity for that and they should be up for this game.
