    Do Not Have Fun

Some people talk about court storming like the risk is the same as playing ping pong with the green chemical weapon things from the movie "The Rock".

Kansas State fans are madder than I have ever seen

Years ago I was one of them, but haven't been for a while. Probably because they hated KU too when I was at the Niang era Big 12 Tourney games. Also, they were a fellow land grant and I was an agronomy student.

Evidence of life found in the atmosphere of Venus

I have this feeling that we'd find no life in a spot we were like 80% sure, and actually find it somewhere wild.

What strange foods do you like?

I like barley cooked in chicken stock on a rice cooker. I then add lots of hot sauce, garlic, and red pepper. Sometimes I'll add a bit of parmesan cheese to make it like a b****rd risotto.

Anybody going to UO game in Athens, OH

I was born near Athens ages ago, but Donkey Coffee is a nice place to get caffeinated while you are there. Court Street is college party/debauchery central.

    ***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

At least if it hails again it might pound in the broadcasted cover crop seed that I should have drilled in my garden.

The Last of Us HBO series

Craig Mazin has been on fire with Chernobyl and now Last of Us. He's sort of like the reverse M. Night Shyamalan in terms of director success.

Question for Soil Scientists / Agronomists / Farmers About Rain on Nearly Frozen or Frozen Soil

All other things being equal (management, slope, etc.) silts are the most susceptible to wind and water erosion followed by fine sands.

Question for Soil Scientists / Agronomists / Farmers About Rain on Nearly Frozen or Frozen Soil

I thought so too, but a recent farm visit to Carver County MN made it seem not so rare. Granted there is a lot of dairy production but the fields I saw were not alfalfa getting terminated, just fall tilling a corn field.

Question for Soil Scientists / Agronomists / Farmers About Rain on Nearly Frozen or Frozen Soil

Not restoring, just keeping less from eroding than a corn soybean rotation. Organic matter from manure and corn stalks is not the only part of your A horizon. Silt, sand, and clay cannot be replaced on human timescales.

Racist Hawk fans at it again

Good lord people, the "white entitlement" line does not (and should not) invite a racist slur in response. That stuff would only trigger a moron. The hok fan is not a toddler and shouldn't get a pass.

    Bob Stoops Chimes In

During basketball season someone should send a Cameo to Dolph about their good friend "Francis".

    Bob Stoops Chimes In

I can't stop laughing at how Fran's delivers his "...maybe think about making a move back to New England" line. So good.

Well, based on his writing and tweets, Hines sounds like he is fed up with life in general.
