As a fan this is what I want to see from the offense...

We had a great year last year after a first game let down...I'm confidant we'll have a great season this year as well but as a fan I'd like to see the offense do some different things to reduce the predictability of our offense... *More up tempo/no huddle...Mix it up and don't let the D get set...

ISU has never lost a game when Matt Thomas has scored 15 or more points..

That is a fact. If Thomas goes for 15 or more chances are that we win. Of course we have won games where Thomas has scored lower than 15...but ISU has never lost a game where Thomas scores 15 or more.

Happy Days Are Here Again...Except for that elephant in the room....

The realigned Big 12 Conference: What does this mean for Iowa State? 3 non-conference games every year instead of 4 with one always being Iowa. 9 game round-robin Big 12 schedule... Meaning: 6 games every year against: Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, and Texas Tech 3 games...

New P5 (or P6) Conference...Give the Texas and OK the finger...The Big X

Western Division: Iowa State Kansas State Kansas Colorado Minnesota Eastern Division: Indiana Northwestern Illinois Purdue West Virginia Think about it. Take our beloved ISU as an example - we have 3 non-confernce games now then 9 games in the Big 12...we have to play OU, OSU, BU, TCU, UT...

JP holds all the keys - He has taken a difficult first step - The next step is...

GET THE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE RIGHT!! JP made the difficult but correct first step in dismissing Rhoads & changing the coaching staff. After JP hires our new ringer he needs to step up and fix the bone-headed non-conference scheduling that is hamstringing ISU. ISU was in a very good...

We'd have no chance without Lanning and Warren - Shake it off fellas...

Stunning... I just feel awful for our guys. As painful as that was to watch as a fan it has to be especially painful for our team. Lanning and Warren are great players and we wouldn't have any chance without them and if Mangino was still calling the plays. Shake it off boys and go and beat...

    Motivator vs Head Coach...

It has become crystal clear to me, after 7yrs, that JP hired a "motivator" rather than an organized head coach with a firm grasp of strategy (X's and O's), the ability to articulate his vision, and the ability to hire subordinates (OC/DC) to execute that vision. CPR came in after the Chizik...

How can the coaching staff not know what down it is??? EVER HEARD OF A TIMEOUT??

From the Ames Trib this morning - Rhoads explains fourth quarter play calling... Seriously CPR? Call a timeout for pete's sake. By Bobby La Gesse Sports Editor rlagesse@amestrib.com When Iowa State wide receiver Carson Epps fell near the first down marker, the coaching staff thought it was...

Rhoads seems to barely be able to credit Lanning...

Rhoads seems barely able to credit Lanning... From the Ames Tribune: 'Rhoads credited some of the Cyclones' offensive success to Lanning, but not all of it'... CPR: "You can credit a player, but he wasn't blocking for the guy who was carrying the ball and he wasn't running the football and he...

What We Need To See Against Baylor

We are 37pt underdogs...Baylor is likely going to hang 60+ pts on us - so what the heck...have some fun. Rhoads, Mangino, and Burnham better pull all the stops and go for it. Offensively: 1. Play Lanning at least 1/2 the snaps - not a predictable package and empower him to run/throw and make...

    Bubu on UConn's Napier?

Bubu was always known as an overall tenacious defender and one of the best "on-the-ball" defenders - I wonder if Fred is considering playing Bubu in some kind of defensive role against Napier in this game or would that create too much of a firestorm? I would think the media would blow it up...
