    Jaz Kunc return timing?

Discipline towards thread topics is antithetical to Cyclone Fanatic's DNA at this point.

    Jaz Kunc return timing?

Lipsey is already a very good Big 12 two-way point guard as a freshman. But his ceiling in college and professionally is limited if he's zero threat from the outside. The good news is I'm sure the coaching staff will communicate this to him and he's going to be taking a thousand threes per day...

That imbroglio was in November 2021 and Pants kept posting at high volumes until September 2022. Then he just... stops... after an innocuous post about some live music events that he's enjoyed lately. That is pretty impressive he fought through CW's de facto shadow ban for a year like that...

    Jaz Kunc return timing?

Jared wrote he (Kunc) was expected back for Kansas in the preview article for the Tech game tonight.

    Jaz Kunc return timing?

Big 12 teams aren't dumb. If they know he isn't going to shoot it (or make it) they'll sag off. Lipsey is getting that treatment hard right now. The best thing would be for Caleb to disabuse them of that notion.

I'm completely out of the loop here but what happened with Pants? Is he okay? Did he announce some sort of retirement on here? Or did he just disappear? @alarson @cowgirl836 anything that you can say to fill me in?

The timeline for the offseason last spring was... 3/28 = Brockington announces he is leaving 3/28 = Conditt announces he is leaving 3/28 = CW leaks to premium subscribers that Jackson and Walker are leaving 3/28 = CW leaks Enaruna is leaving but Jones is staying 4/4 = Williams commits 4/16 =...

I agree with this. AJ Green would have made this a top-five team. A replacement-level fallback would raise the floor given the injuries they're dealing with right now. Unfortunately the Cyclones have neither. :(

Williams was a preseason scratch. Still haven't heard a timetable for Kunc to return. Grill is a difficult one. Back injuries tend to linger a long time. Missing on AJ Green is really hurting right now -- it would have been nice to have found one more transfer guard who could play in the Big...

Kudos to the Tigers. Let's hope this team isn't going to fade from attrition. One OOC road loss is not a disaster, though, but it did knock ISU down one or two seeding lines --

*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs Missouri Game(Day) Thread ***

The Huskies still look strong in the efficiency rankings. Iowa State is #11 on Torvik right now. UConn is #7. They have some nice wins in their back pocket, such as neutral-site wins over Alabama and Iowa State (and it does fill me with some pride to realize that beating the Cyclones is quite a...

*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs Missouri Game(Day) Thread ***

Just to play a game of "how much does this matter," here is the Torvik projection for the postseason seeding assuming Iowa State defeats the Tigers a little later today... And here is how it looks if the Tigers win... It is not the most critical of games, but at this level of college...

13-14 Clones vs 22-23 Clones. Who wins

The two are closer than I thought they would be. I thought the current team would be so far ahead on defense that it might be a 3-4 point favorite, but it works out to only be more like one. The Kane-Ejim-Niang team is probably dragged down a little from missing Ejim to start the year and Niang...

13-14 Clones vs 22-23 Clones. Who wins

The "Kalscheur Clones" have these adjusted ratings on Torvik per 100 -- Offense = 110.3 Defense = 89.8 Net = +20.5 The "Kane Clones" have these adjusted ratings on Torvik per 100 -- Offense = 119.1 Defense = 99.5 Net = +19.6 The Kalscheur Clones should be roughly a pick to a one-point...

I don't have any numbers behind this, but I think the rest of the conference is, too. Seems every game the announcers are like "they just got this guy back."

So what happens if there's a three-way tie in record at the top of the standings? Do we all get a banner? Or does only the #1 seed in the Big 12 tournament get to claim that championship?

I wouldn't object to a "banked threes don't count" rule. Make it a turnover/out of bounds or a jump ball or something. Inside the arc, sure, the backboard is an important part of the offensive arsenal. But nobody aims to bank in a three. If luck rewards you one, it shouldn't count. You...

This just reminds me banked-in threes spotted Oklahoma State six points. Six points that easily swing that game if they got the bricks they deserved.

I'm not saying tank the Missouri game -- winning or losing it probably makes a +/- one line difference in terms of NCAA seeding -- but the Big 12 opportunity is just so real and awesome right now. Probably a good chance to rest Grill for a week to get him back closer to 100% for TTU.
