    OT: Mommy's Alright, Daddy's Alright

Close, it is from "Surrender" by Cheap Trick... Mother told me, yes, she told me I'd meet girls like you. She also told me, "stay away, you'll never know what you'll catch." Just the other day I heard a soldier falling off some Indonesian junk that's going round. Mommy's alright, daddy's...

Cassette tapes are making a comeback

Funniest part was when they didn't plan the tracks right or there was a really long song and the Ka-chunk came in the middle of the song. Track 2 Freebird ... I'm gonna fly high .... Ka-Chunk Track 3 Freebird Part 2 a freebird, yeah.

    2020 Media All-B12 teams ...

Whar Baylor? Hard to believe a team that went 11-3 (8-1) last year only has one first team player. Were they top heavy with seniors last year?

    Update on a vaccine

Thought this should be added to the discussion. A common cholesterol drug - Fenofibrate (Tricor) - may reduce Covid symptoms to that of a common cold. More testing is needed of course.

    Wings - Flats or Drumsticks?

I didn't vote. For me the correct answer is "Legs". Grilled, smoked or fried at home using various spices and sauces. Twice the meat compared to wings for less than half the price and they taste better.

Who do we Replace Iowa WIth?

Just curious... Is it your personal goal to get every single discussion that mentions Covid 19 sent to the cave?

    Images of Iowa

Overall, I liked the pictures. Seems like they spent a lot of time in eastern Iowa. (Not that western Iowa is all that much different from an outsiders point of view.)

Talk to me about Jim Walden

Clarifying a couple of things about the number of scholarships that Walden had to work with. Criner left him with a big mess but NCAA sanctions were only part of it. Read here about the mess that was Criner's final two years.

    NBA: Pick one

A couple of old timers for your consideration. The Malones - Karl and Moses.

    NBA: Pick one

Laimbeer... Because he would fight dirty and take someone out with a cheap shot that they wouldn't be expecting.

    Jeff Hornacek funny article

Well, she's a celeb and is trying to become a bigger celeb and her Instagram account is an avenue to do that. She has almost 40,000 followers. If my face was about to pop upon 40,000 devices I'd probably want to make sure that it looks good. (No one wants to see my face on 40 devices let alone...

Example why the pasture isn't alway greener over there ...

I think that Mizzou's problem with racial issues had a serious impact on their athletic programs and shouldn't be under estimated. I don't know their most recent statistics, but they had a 30 percent drop in enrollment and 40 percent decrease in African American enrollment following the...

97-98 Bulls Documentary (The Last Dance)

My fuzzy memory thinks that Heinrich was almost certainly going to Iowa State if Floyd hadn't left. Collison was leaning towards the (Iowa) Hawks but Tom Davis was on the worst lame duck contract ever seen so Nick and every other recruit had no idea who their coach would be after their freshman...

    4/16 -4/17 Weather Thread

Since some on here like to throw shade at the weather people whenever a storm doesn't exactly match their prediction, how about we give credit where it is due. They nailed this one. Also, had about two inches of snow here this morning. Trees were covered in snow. It was beautiful. But if you...

Land O Lakes changing "Racist" packaging

That was also the infamous yadda, yadda, yadda, episode. "Speaking of ex’s, my old boyfriend came over late last night, and, yada yada yada, anyway. I’m really tired today."

Land O Lakes changing "Racist" packaging

Speaking of Seinfeld, this entire thread made me smile because just about an hour ago I watched the episode where Jerry's dentist became Jewish and thought it was OK to start telling Jewish jokes. Of course Jerry tells a dentist joke and everyone gets offended and he is accused of being an...

    Thread of great guitarists

My favorite would have to be Carlos Santana but he always gets mentioned in these threads - as he should be. Just for something different, how about some Terry Kath from the early days of Chicago. Here is what JImi Hendrix said about him. "Walt, the horns are like one set of lungs," Parazaider...

Coronavirus Coronavirus: In-Iowa General Discussion (Not Limited)

I agree, but how low can they go? Some on are already reporting $1.44/gallon (Ankeny Casey's and Sam's Club). After you take out $.50 in state and federal taxes that leaves less than a dollar per gallon for oil companies to extract, refine and transport it to the local stores. Not...

CFTV: Nate Scheelhaase/WR fall camp update

It means he's fast. ;) One of the best all around athletes in the state last year. At the state meet he ran: 46.99 400 meter dash - All time record 46.6 Split in the sprint medley - (all time medley team record) 21.76 200 meter - First place 10.97 100 meter dash -...

    Something fun...homecoming in the 50's

Pammel Court.. The curved buildings to the left were used up until the 80s (I think) as married student housing. Each one was two units.
