Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

I had fertilized my yard in early April with Millorganite. It still didn't look great so I bought a soil test. I was going to test a week or so ago, but held off because I found out a company mistakenly fertilized our yard by mistake. I figured I would wait to see what happens. I hope the...

    NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

They also have Lucas Niang (TCU player) to play somewhere. He sat out last year for COVID but was projected as a future tackle. They also get Dr Laurent Duvernay-Tardif back as well I think after doing his Dr thing in Canada caring for COVID patients,

    NFL: Kansas City Chiefs Thread

I heard from a Chiefs guy on KXNO (Nick Athon) that there is a chance that they resign Keliche Osemile. It sounds like he wants to be there and Nick thinks he can play tackle. I didn't think there was a chance he would play again after badly injuring both knees, but I guess i was wrong. Cool...

    ZTR mower recommendation needed

My dad has an Exmark Lazer Z for his farm. It is a super nice mower. I believe Exmark is a more commercial line of Toro, but not sure. Either way, it is a really well built mower and does a great job.

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

I had wondered that myself. No clue. I am trying to figure out as I go. I moved in at the end of October and am not sure what the history of fertilizer and lawncare were from previous owners.

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

Here are some pictures I took of my back yard yesterday. I am thinking hard about dethatching. Between the tree and the swing set is the most brown.

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

It isnt tall enough to mow most of it. The brown is matted down quite a bit.

I have heard it can do more harm than good sometimes.

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

Does anyone have any experience with dethatching? I moved into a new house late last fall and my grass is far and away the last one to be turning green. It is green underneath, but there is a ton of dead brown stuff on top that seems to be hindering the green underneath. It is coming on...

S-2 "The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch" History Channel

I really liked Project Blue Book (not reality, more of a drama) that was on History Channel. Wish they wouldn't have cancelled it.

Fertilizing my lawn for initial spring application

I have recently been using Millorganite with decent results. I moved into a new house late last fall and don't know what the fertilization history has been. My new yard is quite a bit bigger (about twice the size). I have a handheld spreader to save on garage space. Now I will have to use...

    College choices-Academic

I say go where you can get your school paid for. No debt is huge coming out of college. The school (as long as the person enjoys it) is not super critical. College is what YOU make of it, not the school. If the person likes what he/she is studying, they are more willing to learn and get more...

Report: T.J. Otzelberger headed for Iowa State

I am warming up to the idea of TJ as our coach. I hope for a lot of success with him here. To be fair, not a lot of people have had a lot of success at UNLV in recent history for whatever reason. Maybe we reached out to some other candidates that we would be interested earlier in the year and...

Report: T.J. Otzelberger headed for Iowa State

Does anyone consider that in the age of Zoom etc that some of the interviews could have gone on a while ago when the seasons were still going on and maybe this sped up the process?

Report: T.J. Otzelberger headed for Iowa State

When Jamie comes out and says don't read into all the rumors until anything is confirmed and then the TJ news comes out that night, it sure seems like a smoke screen to me and that the hire is someone else. If it is TJ, it was not my first choice, but I will want him to succeed just like every...

Williams & Blum Pod: Setting the table for a weird week

Does anyone know where I can find information about the "English" music that is played at the opening of the podcast? I really like the sound but couldn't find anything on Google about them?

    Need a new water softener

I'm putting in a new water softener this weekend that I bought from Lowes. I'm pretty excited to have one again. I know Ankeny's water may not be super hard, but I miss having soft water.
