    JTS Improvements - Want More

The glass looks slick, but the structure is a little squatty for my tastes. I don't know, I'm not an architect. It just looks like they plopped a trailer on top of a building. It looks like a double wide to me.

No. Is it a different shape in person?

    JTS Improvements - Want More

I know criticizing anything ISU is off limits for many of you, but just relax. I'm really the only one that sees a huge trailer plopped on top of another when I look at the SPC? I just think we could've been a little more imaginative there, but I understand the primary benefits of the building...

    JTS Improvements - Want More

Is anyone else underwhelmed with the design of the SPC? For all of the guff that the Jacobson building gets, I'm still a little miffed that we drew up a really big trailer for our big facilities upgrade? Don't get me wrong, all of these upgrades are great and needed. I just thought a glass...

Cy-Hawk Game This Year: Revenge or Just Shutting Up Their Idiot Fans?

It's a big game for Iowa. Seems like their staff is particularly invested in beating Campbell and an upstart ISU. And it's a big game for Iowa State because it's one of the few things Campbell hasn't checked off since getting to Ames. As an ISU fan, I want to beat Iowa badly. For many reasons.

Cy-Hawk Game This Year: Revenge or Just Shutting Up Their Idiot Fans?

lol sure The rivalry is usually more intense for the fans than the players. Of all the things to avoid, I don't see any ISU players boycotting a couple of bad rock songs. I associate those songs with drinking cheap beer on a boat or at a crappy bar. So I guess kinda like Kinnick.

So you're using this current class' unrealized potential as a winning argument over a class that we've already seen succeed? I guess any recruiting class ever can be considered the best ever because, hey, the fab five had produced the same amount (zero) at the time of their commitment. What an...

Yeah, sorry, that's just super weak. We all remember the baggage. The strategy was highly criticized at the beginning of the Hoiberg era. But your personal anecdote about White is hilarious. WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! IT DID WORK OUT! But hey, it almost didn't, and that should be remembered lol

If you want to make an argument that Kalscheur/Brockington/Enaruna/Hunter/Kunc/Grill/Jones come with higher expectations than White/Allen/Babb/Booker, I think that's fair, but arguable. I don't think Lucious is part of the conversation since he was the year after (along with Clyburn and Niang)...

    ISU MBB Twitter

Phog Allen is tops. It's one of the most unique and awesome atmospheres in all of sports. You don't get a sense watching on TV for how old and small it is, which I think is more charming than a new arena. It holds plenty of people, but they are packed in there, and it is LOUD. Hilton being #2...

    TJ the Coach

When you don't practice rebounding, toughness is clearly not a priority. I don't think TJ is going out of his way to get defensive guys with grit. That just happens to be who was available and interested. I think he's taking a page out of Campbell's book and looking for guys with good...

Georges Niang Update - Jazz success

I hope he can keep it going in the postseason. He's always been a guy that needs more minutes to get his game going, and he's getting that opportunity right now. He struggled a little bit for Utah in the bubble, and Jazz fans wanted him gone. They are now complimenting him through their teeth...

Allen was much more of a shooter. He was playing really well by the end of his one year at ISU. He was the 45th ranked recruit out of HS, so a solid 4-star. I don't think his production was too out of line with expectations at that point in his career though. He had already played 3 years at...

Cy-Hawk Game This Year: Revenge or Just Shutting Up Their Idiot Fans?

That was the biggest play of the game imo. We're driving pretty easily and could put them behind by two scores. Stone makes a good play, and we're still in a battle instead of making them play catch up in front of a rowdy crowd. Our weapons on both ends are much more developed in 2021 than...

    KCCI weather department

I've been in the belly of the beast in Eastern Iowa media. The Iowa Hawkeyes are the most significant entity in sports history, and you Iowa State people should stay quiet. I've also worked at KCCI. A lot of good people there, and if anything, it was pro-ISU among on-air talent and definitely...

When we know it worked out, it's dumb to ding Hoiberg's recruiting in hindsight. It could be argued in his favor just as easily. Recruiting is getting good players that help you win, go to class, add to your culture, and stay out of trouble. Pretty tough to discount Hoiberg's instant success...

Why does their background matter? Especially when we have the advantage of hindsight. Royce White, Chris Allen, and Chris Babb were each major additions. Then you throw in Tyrus McGee and to a lesser extent, Booker. His next class was Niang, Clyburn, and Lucious.
