Always knew tj could recruit, and would be even more successful recruiting in the NIL era. I’ll admit I definitely wasn’t sold on his coaching ability and thought the hire was lazy and buddy buddy hire for JP. Glad I was wrong about the latter. Also glad that I never was on the Tang bandwagon.- CyDude16

I’m not his doctor, only GMs of every NFL team. I don’t know the specifics of what was said just the general idea. But as I understood it, he only had a number of years left coaching at the time. -

At the time he made the decision, his heart condition was going to limit how many more years he could coach (remember when he stopped wearing ties?). Obviously with modern medicine and science, that’s changed but again, in my opinion they’re very different situations. -
