Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

Not sure. Stiffen the transfer rule unless a personal circumstance or coaching change occurs.

Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

You go to school to gain either knowledge/skills or a required industry license (which doesn't exist in football) for those professions. Trevor Lawrence needs neither at this point to get paid, yet he can't.

Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

Except play football for money. It has to be the only industry where elite talent can’t capitalize financially because of made up rules by a monopoly. Genius programmers can get scooped up without degrees. Child singers release albums. Basketball players can go overseas. But football players...

Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

I get this sentiment. But what options do football players have?

Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

I didn’t vote. My thoughts haven’t changed. I don’t think the NCCA can allow paying players because I feel like it gets messy between the women’s diving team & the football team, Alabama football vs Duke basketball vs Penn State Wrestling vs Iowa State Baseball. Just huge amounts of variables...

K-12 Return to school ongoing discussion

Our district is doing the every other day thing, with full day Zoom calls on your off day. Now that there’s an obvious need, certain day cares are offering zoom facilitation, even the Y -Care that does before & after care for school age kids. This compromise bull **** is dumb. Now kids will...

Big XII ADs Split on Schedule - Presidents Voting on Monday

That's my point. Name a realistic option that isn't "cancel the season"

Big XII ADs Split on Schedule - Presidents Voting on Monday

I understand that. Not saying it’s ideal. It’s just one of their options if they want.

Big XII ADs Split on Schedule - Presidents Voting on Monday

Seems like we're wasting time discussing this. All effort should be placed on logistics of a conference schedule. If everyone else is playing conf only, and MLB is having this much trouble, they seem to have 3 choices to me: 1) Replicate the NBA model. Close to impossible in my opinion with...

    Any experience with CrossFit?

My opinion, from a longevity standpoint alone, I think classic strength training is better. You work your cardio system enough to stay healthy. And no one ever got sent to the nursing home because their mile time sucked. But once youre not strong enough to squat yourself out of a chair, you're...

    Any experience with CrossFit?

The best workout option is the one you'll stick with. If you're interested in cross fit, go try it. I've never been to a cross fit gym. I like cross fit type exercises, but hate their workouts, if that makes sense. Too many complicated movements taken to failure. If the staff doesn't seem to...

Dowling and Valley recruiting players From all over

We're paying for private elementary school. Intending public middle & high school. It wasn't about religion for us. In our community, it was a way to secure smaller class sizes. My son's early elementary grade has 10 students with a full time teacher & full time aid. He made huge social...

K-12 Return to school ongoing discussion

Randomly jumping into this thread to say I’m annoyed we’re playing fall sports while making the school year difficult with every other day school, or similar. I love sports. They’re important for development. But school is more important. Half class sizes, masks, etc. while spreading the virus...

    Post Positive Stuff Here

2 rejection letters. But still one open application! I’m likely one of their top candidates for this last job. Making up my list of demands for the negotiation now. This is going great!!

    Post Positive Stuff Here

I got an email rejection for a job I applied for. Which means my other 2 applications to the same company are still under consideration. BOOM

New test detects Coronavirus in 20 minutes

The article first says it can detect active virus patients. And then later suggests it’s only an antibody test. Not very clear. Also, I haven’t heard that we understand the antibodies enough to know how useful that will be.

    Update on a vaccine

I know I've turned them in. I guess I'm not sure if they were "required"

    Update on a vaccine

Surprised how many are wary of taking this right away. I thought I'd be in the minority. With that, and all these back to school plan discussion, does anything think places could require proof of a vaccine to return to work/school? How would you feel about that?
