On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

Intriguing-- had you realized so many of your #2 choices were from '70, prior to this?

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

Somehow didn't realize the album with those songs came in '70 -- I would have guessed '72-ish. Good reference.

Big 12 releases updated conference schedule

On the contrary, I prefer we get something similar to ULM. :)

    Louisiana Added to Schedule

And until 1999, it was Southwestern Louisiana

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

Guessing he might have interpreted theme as "1970s" and not "1970" -- that's my guess.

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

Additional comment on "McCartney," earlier I mentioned "Maybe I'm Amazed," even if a listener considered a majority of the rest of the album unfinished or throwaway, it has two other definite standouts, "Junk" and "Every Night."

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

I stopped short of putting that album on my list, but it's definitely in my all-time underrated LPs group. It has an informal charm, it's kind of like getting to hear Paul as he's writing & developing demos, before there's a weeding-out process or any studio sheen added ("Maybe I'm Amazed"...

The summary of "Loaded" by @Mr Janny overlaps a lot with my synopsis (notably the reference to "Sweet Jane") allow me to post my roundup, with a few clips. #2 The Velvet Underground “Loaded” Released: November 1970 It still fascinates me how far apart the 1967 debut “And Nico” sounds from...

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

I love the juxtaposition of your top 2 -- S&G and Black Sabbath, released the same year, seem like they came from separate planets.

I, too, prefer the predecessor to Loaded. But not *only* because of Pale Blue Eyes. :)

I like the new CF site design, but man, i't f****n me up for the OTN routine.

I guess I won't have to post my #2 ("Loaded") :) I might still do it anyway so I can ramble incessantly prior to my song samples. :D

On That Note: Saved By Zero (pt. 1): Albums of 1970/60

#1 Creedence Clearwater Revival “Cosmo’s Factory” Released: July 1970 It took me quite a while to “find” this album. I was familiar with the hits from the greatest-hits compilation “Chronicle,” but didn’t realize so many of those tracks are from this LP. That alone makes it noteworthy, but I’m...

Welcome Back to "On That Note," CF’s weekly source for music listening & discussion, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and @cyclones500. MeanDean was scheduled to host this time, but the storm caused damage at his house and he’s without power for a few days. I’ll be host for this segment...

    New Uniforms Revealed

Could we see that new design with removal of the collar colors? I think that gets in the way of the full eefect.

Friday OT #2 - Avatar (But Not By James Cameron)

As for avatars of other CF members, I appreciate those who switch occasionally to keep it interesting/fresh, but tend to like the familiar/consistent themes (sometimes with minor revisions). Fun to be able to tell at a glance who it is. Semi-related: I’ve been on the board so long & so...

Friday OT #2 - Avatar (But Not By James Cameron)

I’ve had some form of T-shirt icon since joining CF. I thought it’d be a fun emblem, now I feel committed to the format :) . I’ve strayed only a couple of times from it. I had some sort of Rhodes-related avatar for a short time and briefly used an Ejim action shot. I returned to the shirt each...

Friday OT #1 - Mario or Toad. Carts - What's In Yours?

The cart leftovers reveal my geekery and '60s obsession. Most were carted prior to my switch to e-reading. “1966: The Year the Decade Exploded,” by Jon Savage
