Big XII ADs Split on Schedule - Presidents Voting on Monday

I am assuming that classes will have some social distancing requirements, and most likely masks. As someone else said, these guys want to play, so they will probably use more precautions that the general population.

Big XII ADs Split on Schedule - Presidents Voting on Monday

This is what I said in another thread. In general, they can control the environment better than the general student population. Eating meals where you can control how many eat at one time might make a big difference. I assume that they are also making sure that guys that are rooming together...

Has COVID changed your opinion of paying college athletes?

I voted against paying. Paying players is financially impossible for a lot of colleges, so it is just another the rich get richer problem. In addition, who do you pay? Just the sports that generate money? That will never fly. As far a Covid, l don't see what difference it makes to the...

    Phil Steele Prediction

There have been a lot of good players that have sucked at being coaches. CMC is just a good coach, and he sees things that some other coaches do not. The OL thing is just a series of unfortunate situations all happening in the first 2 years in Ames. Remember his first game for ISU he had zero...

    Phil Steele Prediction

I think a lot of the problems with the OL have been from the cupboard being pretty bare when Campbell got the Ames. I think a couple of the guys that were returning starters retired due to injuries, which further reduced the numbers. CMC tried to fill in the gaps with grad transfers and JC...

    My plan to save #CFB

I agree with what you are saying. They should just play the games, and if someone get it, then quarantine, just like the rest of the world is doing. Also, make sure that there are lots of vitamins and minerals in the players diets, particularly D and zinc, so they can fight off the virus...

    New strength coach

If CMC things this guy is a great improvement, than that is good in my book. It seems like everytime we have a coaching change the next guy that comes in says that the weight program really needs an upgrade, and I have just the guy. This is the first time I remember ISU letting a strength...

Anyone having a suggestion for walleye fishing in Iowa or MN?

I never keep anything in the Wapsi, but if I did a Smallmouth would be the last thing I would take to eat. I don't think they taste that great, and they are so much fun to catch.

Anyone having a suggestion for walleye fishing in Iowa or MN?

I have been catching quite a few fish on the Wapsi this year. Nothing huge, but the smallmouth population and the health of the fish has been very good. (Most of the bass have good color and some weight on them) I have just been fishing from shore, so kind of limited on where I can go. Caught...

    Tight End U

I will agree with VeloClone, these are not all TEs. Having said that, the TE position has really changed a lot in the last few years. Most of these guys are not only big and strong, they are darn fast. Kolar is a guy that can really cover a lot of ground once he gets moving. Still miss...

Anyone having a suggestion for walleye fishing in Iowa or MN?

Has anyone fished on Balsam Lake in WI? My in-laws are celebrating their 65 anniversary there in the middle of August, and they are taking a boat to do some fishing. Looks like a pretty nice place, but might be a bit crowded for fishing.

Anyone having a suggestion for walleye fishing in Iowa or MN?

It is a monster of a lake. I have never fished there, and the only person I know that has even talked to someone was my brother, and someone he worked with went there for a week and did really badly. Which of course with fishing could mean anything from there is bad fishing or you should have...

Poll: Have you been tested for COVID-19?

Has this changed: A top World Health Organization official clarified on Tuesday that scientists have not determined yet how frequently people with asymptomatic cases of Covid-19 pass the disease on to others, a day after suggesting that such spread is “very rare.” At first they said it didn't...

    ***General Cycling Thread***

I got my first pair on RAGBRAI after I forgot to pack my cycling shoes. (Yeah, I know, stupid.) I had some friends that loved them so I thought now was the time to get them. I have ridden in them whenever it is warm enough ever since. They are cool and great for when it rains on you. They...

Anyone having a suggestion for walleye fishing in Iowa or MN?

Has anyone been to Devils Lake in ND? My father in Law called the other day and was thinking that would be a good place to go after hearing from a friend that went there and did well.

    Howard Brown commits!

Re-al probably would have gotten some more playing time if he hadn't come to ISU the same time as Purdy. Still, I suspect that the coaches didn't have a ton of faith in him, because they didn't play him, even when Brock was clearly hurt.

    Howard Brown commits!

He is definitely a defensive player, but it would be fun to put him in on a couple short yardage situations. That is something ISU has really struggled with over the years. DM got a lot of first downs on just toughness, but other than that it has been hard sledding. BTW, 8 of those 10 KSU...

    Update on a vaccine

Yeah, I am Type 2, but I won't be rushing to get the shot. There are so many possible negative reactions. What if 1% of the people that get it die, or are disabled? That is worse than the virus, as far as I can tell. The Covid data is not very trustworthy.

We usually drive to Red Lake and then fly to Upper Goose Lake. The fishing is amazing. Still think I will go somewhere in MN for a few days. Red Lake MN looks interesting.
