Thanks!

I’m not complaining about another #6 spot—but I have no idea how they have Oregon as #8.

I thought Oregon looked super talented, but super young in the Fiesta. Plus they were still figuring out their QB position.

If they get that QB reps, they should demolish the Pac12.

I wasn’t all that impressed with what I saw from Brown. If either Ty Thompson or Jay Butterfield grabs the job with both hands, maybe. Especially the former.

Key addition Ben Langston. For someone with such a huge platform and so many resources, ESPN can be so lazy sometimes
He also didn’t mention Amos or Mevis as “key newcomers”, just listed a bunch of recruits. Also didn’t count Assalley as a “returning specialist”. Not to mention that our P was a starter before he got hurt.

Reading the other entries, it seems like it’s just us the writer got “lazy” on.

Seeing iowa as a top 15 means we have to come out and act like a top 10 team right away. Yes, can win the big 12 still of we lose, but beating a decent ranked iowa would justify these pre season rankings and get the kool aid flowing even faster!

Well...either that, or it means they’re over ranked.

They’ll have a tough time with IU. Then I expect us to do rude things to their OL, especially the McDonald vs the tackles.

Great points.....and ultimately we did great last year and bring back almost all of our players...so this is a 'cliche' "prove it" type season.....which is great....a top 10 team SHOULD win most games/all home games, etc.

I know it is still so far away, but Nov. 20 in Norman is going to be massive. There is a potential to have both teams at 10-0 heading into that matchup. If that was the case, it would also be a near guarantee of a rematch in Dallas two weeks later.

There is even an outside shot that the Big 12 has two 12-1 teams, and their only losses are to each other. Should that happen, the discourse around the playoff will be insane.
I'm glad you said outside shot because, based upon my algorithm, ISU has a 97% chance of being 13-0.

despite all this hype, I am afraid of the month of September because we seem to be super lethargic...that said UNI looked horrible this spring season (I know it was a weird season) and we should have no issues with them at all. Iowa is Iowa and I want to get over that hump. UNLV I think is worse than UNI and we'll probably have a home field advantage in Vegas so that game I am the least worried about in the non con.

I'm just curious but what are you basing this on? Our fan base has put WAY too much stock into the ULM game last year and a few games years prior where we had really incomplete teams. We will absolutely embarrass UNI and I think the Iowa game could get out of hand as well.

I feel this way because of the Louisiana game yes, the UNI game in 2019, and basically every UNI game before hand. Also it was in December and the conditions were horrible, but we almost lost to non scholarship, Drake. FREAKING DRAKE. And we have to beat Iowa this year. I'll feel better about the scope of our season if we can get through September unscathed. To deny that we haven't struggled in the month of September is called being ignorant. We seem to always start slow. Hopefully they prove us wrong.

Not that long ago we were looking at the upcoming schedule and trying to figure out if the team could get six wins. Crazy to think how much this program has changed.

Don't worry, the doom and gloom with be back once we're down to UNI after the first quarter. :jimlad:
