Googled Hillcrest Prep and looked at their website. Appears to be a fine academic school;)

They do appear to have a basketball team that would be the envy of a lot of college coaçhes. Bibby the former Az player is their head coach.

It looks like the Sallis kid from Omaha is playing there as well.

Someone once told me public high schools are at a disadvantage because they can’t/don’t recruit.

read the article. prior to his enrollment at waukee, he was set to go to a prep school in AZ, but it appears that is no longer occurring.

Add in the fact waukee’s lineup has 3 other D1 recruits, this makes sense for him, for the time being.

Good move for him. Dowling wasn’t a fit for him and with the uncertainty today, the move to a Cali Prep School didn’t make a ton of sense.

Well, if there is a high school season, Waukee should run away with the title. Billew, DeVries, both Sandfort's. Easily the most talented team in the state since Ames had Barnes/McDermott

Since when is 9th grade considered middle school?

That comment was made last May when he would have been finishing his 8th grade year. it was an announcement of where he would be attending high school.

“ Playing in the 17U division with Chicago based RWA Hoops, class of 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. of Joliet (Ill.) West showed up in Kansas City with a reputation that preceded him. He backed up the praise that some very smart people have been heaping on him.

First of all, Fears is fast. Like really fast. But, while he's got jets, he is able to play under control while blazing his way to the basket. Based on what had been passed along to us, it was expected that he might be a bit of a gunner when it comes to shot selection. He's not shy by any means, but he wasn't without conscience and deserves to shoot because he's dangerous from deep or off the dribble. What really impressed, though, was his overall feel for the game on both ends of the floor, confidence and long term upside.

His future is bright and given that he's already landed offers from programs like Creighton, DePaul, Iowa State, Kansas State, Maryland, Nebraska and others, we aren't the only ones who feel Fears is one to watch.”
