MLB shuts down spring training and delays opening day two weeks. At least no snow games most likely for the Twins. They should have just shortened the season all the more and went with May 1.

This is small fries compared to what the real problem in the world is but I do wonder if there’s any way Pineada gets credit for the games cancelled. I doubt it but it’s a thought.

Likely won't break our HR record now...

Hoping a shortened season might make people realize that we don't have to have 162 games going forward.

Don't think it helps any with Pineada, but it does a little with Hill.

I think a lot of "people" and players would be fine with a 154, the ******* owners and TV rights powers, not so much.

Think the time offed helped the hitters or helped the pitchers? I'd have to assume not having live throw games would impact the pitchers more for the upcoming season right? If that is the case this lineup will rake.

They freakin should. I think what is huge for us in the depth of the line up because injuries in this short season are potentially devastating for a team. There’s so many bats.

This is gonna be insane.

I wonder if they are going to increase the number of players on the major league roster due to the virus? Minor leaguers aren't playing anyways. Might as well have those guys there just in case a player or 2 can't play?

I didn’t see that noted yet but I feel like that was part of the negotiations.

Also, in this crazy scenario, veteran leadership and team chemistry are gonna be huge. Thank god the Bomba Squad has both.

That's a 40-20 on paper.
I wondered the same thing. The cards scare me the most out of that other group. The cubs, who the hell knows. The other three are dangerous at times but definitely beatable. Meaning we’ll lose all 12 of those for sure and win 3/4 from St. Louis.

Or you go into a series with half your starters on the Covid IL or you are full strength and they are less half their stars. The whole thing sucks rosin bags. :(

I mean WTF do you do if you have an outbreak in your bullpen and your whole staff is Covid IL?

Oh it’s gonna be without a doubt one big cluster ****. No question. I pray to god it doesn’t hit us to bad. (And don’t you judge me, but I wouldn’t be all torn up if the whole Yankees locker room was dealing with it.)

While we keep waiting for the season to start up-- here's a Twins trivia question (I guessed wrong)--- "What Twins HOFer has the highest WAR?
