he was not a good teammate. The story i heard was he tried to quit the team and actually packed up and made it to KC before coaches were able to convince him to return.
Probably will never know, but I hope it wasn't because he was reading what fans were saying about him.

Everyone's got haters and all that but that would have been a tough year to be your only year in Ames.

Career 3% --

Harris = 33.4%
JCL = 36.4%
Hinson = 33.3%

I would not exactly call that a trio of deadly snipers.

For comparison, Terrence Lewis last year was 32.5%.

Might be a few splashes, but that looks more like Clank City.

JCL at 36.4% is solid, just not elite. I would classify anyone over 38% as elite. With the new distance for the 2019/20 season, I would say 33% is average for a high volume shooter.

The bigger deal for me is we will have more 3 point shooting options, so if one guy is having an off night- someone else can step up. I would consider all the following as talented 3 point shooters on next year's roster: Bolton, Jackson, Johnson, Harris, Coleman-Lands and Hinson. Hopefully, a couple freshman are average 3 point shooters

Yes last year it was really only TH and Bolton and when TH went down it was just Bolton...Tre hit a few end of year..

But in today’s game you have to have 3-4 kids that can hit 3,s at a 35% clip or so..

Bolton
Harris
Hinson
JCL
Tre
XF

those are the kids that will have the green light from 3...guessing half at least will be at that 35% clip...

Tells you how badLy we need Harris and Hinson waiver.

Why don't they just line up the players at the 3pt line and the team that makes the most 3pt shots wins. That's where we are heading anyways.

Thank you for reminding me that shooting can not be improved.

You should also be reminded that shooting percentages can regress as well. Such as Nixon last year. Not everyone gets substantially better each year.

If XF shoots 35%+ he will only be at Istate for 1 year.

you have high hopes for XF if he believes he can shoot 35%+ from 3 when he shot 32% at Oskaloosa. Not sure moving back 3 ft 3 inches and going from 3A opponents to Big 12 is very conducive for a 3% increase but hey... maybe....

I do agree with your overall point that we will need 3-4 players to shoot that well to be successful

here are the big 12 schools and number of players they had shoot 34+% from 3 last season and their end of season record

TCU - 4 (16-15)
Oklahoma - 3 (19-12)
Baylor - 3 (26-4)
Texas - 3 (19-12)
Texas Tech - 3 (18-13)
Kansas - 2 (28-3)
Oklahoma State - 1 (17-14)
Kansas State - 1 (10-21)
Iowa State - 1 (12-19)
WVU - 0 (21-10)

While I agree expecting XF to hit 1/3 from deep his freshman year is optimistic, I think his form release is good for a player with his size and will allow for him to get there soon after. XF really only needs to be a threat from there as a freshman, even if his 25% but still able to pull post defenders out of the lane he'll help the offense. .

How about "The Midrange Maestro"? Someone else in CF termed that in one of these threads.

No idea who that would have been...

Rank worst cyclones under prohm:

5. Beverly
4. Carter
3. Kasongo
2. Anderson
1. Leech

And this is in no way a shot at these guys..... it's a shot at Prohm for bringing them here.

If Prohm offered me a scholarship, I sure as h**l wouldn't deserve one, but I'd be happy to take it.

Beverly did the best he could... it wasn't his fault Prohm offered him a scholarship.

The spacing a lineup of Bolton, JCL, Jackson, Hinson, and Foster creates could lead to Bolton having an incredible season. He is really tough to stop going to the hoop 1 on 1.

Yeah absolutely, just like Tavon Sledge, Nkereuwem Okoro, KJ Bluford, Giorgos Tsalmpouris, and Nick Noskowiak aren't anymore at fault than Hoiberg
