A couple projects I’ve knocked out in the past year starting with the most recent:

I took some old barn wood and cut it in the shape of Iowa for my deer mount

I was selling these on Etsy to pass sometime but the shipping is a giant pain in the rear. Pretty simple though, just took some old pallets and turned them into wine racks.

Took the same design that I did for my upstairs coffee table but then added the "secret" compartment and raise-able top for computer use.
Lastly, I don't have a picture of it but I built my own bed frame as well. That turned really well and solidly built. Made sure to test it's structural integrity with the ol lady and it's held up quite fine. Technically it's not done as i want to cut part of side boards off and make it have pull out drawers so you can keep extra bedding, sheets, pillows, etc underneath but I haven't gotten off my lazy rear to order the hinges or anything.

Looks good! I like the finish
Much appreciated! I saw a similar stain style on a couple things on the internet and thought I would give it a try. I'm more drawn to the "rustic" look if you will, but I was happily surprised I liked the two stains finish

Makes three of us but I like the way you guys did yours better

Haha popular table design! I really like that your lower boards run the opposite way. I think that makes it look really nice!

Alright fellas, got another question for y’all. I want to make a frame for this. How do I go about it? Open to all ideas. I’m sure some of you have done similar work. 6EE5BF1D-8DCE-48F0-A981-3C51105A5EB2.jpeg

I want to like this because they look good but the funeral part is a bummer.howd you connect the miters? Do you have a biscuit joiner?
Well not as well as I would of liked. I used my Kreg jig and put two pocket holes in longer horizontal boards. It worked well enough but I ended up putting 3 inch screw that’s visible (don’t like that) in each joint from the top and bottom so 4 additional screws. It’s solid but there are two joints of the 12 I did that have a small gap that the more I monkey with it I make it worse. I would like to learn more about the biscuit deal.

Also I would like to sell them after this weekend. I am guessing someone that’s getting married this summer would buy them. Any ideas on how much I could fetch for them? 50 bucks a piece?

Something easy to do that really improves the look and strength (if you’re particular to the look) is to use splines. Make a simple spline jig like in this video or a million others online. I just glue my miters together and when dry gently use the jig to cut slots. Use contrasting colored wood in the splines and it looks awesome.

I think they're pretty spendy. I've never used one
