They had to drain Cunningham Lake in Omaha for the second time in order to try to get rid of all the zebra mussels. Apparently didn't get them all last time. That was last year. With all the flooding we had last year I'm not sure they got it done yet or not. Would have to drive by and check it out.

This is from last year, but sort of sheds light on the situation. This part sucks to read, but is unfortunately the reality of the situation:

"The study confirmed what many people had suspected — that because of increased water clarity, the lake can no longer support the number of walleyes it did in the 1970s or ’80s, said Tom Heinrich, Mille Lacs fisheries supervisor for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. “And that’s just something we have to live with.”"

Anyone ever musky fished on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage? Other favorite Wisconsin lakes? We're considering a late July trip, but finding out tough to get on the Chippewa on short notice.

Nice...Mille Lacs primarily a Walleye lake, but the slot restrictions that last several years have pushed most fishermen away from the lake. Too bad...many great memories as a kid limiting out on the lake.
So you’re too blame? Think of all the filets at bottom of chest freezers that ultimately got thrown away. Slot restrictions save or recover lakes.
