How does #6 work in anyway? There are still extremely cold and snowy days in March and April in Ames (and in other northern states).

Also, if the season started then, imagine how hot it would be in southern states at the end of the season. Do you really think games can be played in Texas or Arizona in June and July? No. I live in Arizona now and lived in Texas for 20 years. That is not a possibility.

Not to mention, how would you turn around and start the 2021 season in a month after the 2020 season just ended.

The games need to played when scheduled or the season should be canceled.

Imo 'cold' in March and April from a late northerly wind is way harder to withstand than it is in October or November.

Talking with a friend that works at the AD he’s feeling the March schedule is the most likely scenario. Two weeks ago felt there was very little chance that a normal fall season happens.

obviously things could’ve change in the two weeks we talked about this.

We need a category of pay-only for posters like the OP. $100/month to start 10 threads per month and post 100 times per month.

The headline is simply a statement of facts. Reality is, you and others here can't get over the rivalry hurdle to address the issues.
Reality is, you are unable to craft a headline or an original posting that fails to glorify all things KSU. This is an ISU board. You seem incapable of figuring that out. Have you been scarred by hoards of Cyclones on KSU message boards or something?

Pretty sure this will never happen...Unless Covid mutates and suddenly 20% death rate starts wiping world out.

LIke other's have said...So you have a season starts in March..Ends in June...Then starts again in August (Camp)? lol...Yea aint happening.

I could see skipping Non conf and starting in October...

I think they will play the games this fall even if they have to do it without Fans. TV viewership would be very high. There's little to no risk for people under age 25 from a Mortality standpoint..Flu levels really.

Can simply do Temp checks on players before game and even do rapids testing that morning of game for both teams and officials.

And you play the games albeit without fans. But playing games without fans wouldn't be that difficult at all.

If the Start games Jan or later in 2021 so is College Basketball season gonna start in May then? Gonna cancel or push back Cbball which starts in November?

At least football is outside...Basketball with 15k+ fans in an enclosed arena seems higher risk than outdoor football stadiums..

Or.....If you are 65 and older and/or have pre existing health conditions which make you high risk you are not allowed to attend events. This alone seems the most logical. The Mortality rate of COVID Below age 65 with no pre existing conditions is Flu level.

The virus has impacted sports for about 50 days and we are about 120 days from Sep 1. IMO a lot of things will get resolved in that time.

College age students have been minimally impacted by severe medical symptoms. Being on a college campus for 18-25 year olds may pose no more medical risk than the flu. The biggest risk would seem to be for instructors, but masks/gloves and other mitigation strategies would seem manageable.

College games with college students in Sept could work. But I think we will know more in 90 days that the bulk of people will be safe to attend games without social distancing being needed. Temp checks, masks, etc would all minimize possible spread. After all people don't eminate Covid. It is spread by coughing, sneezing.

A shorter 8-9 game season that starts in late Aug/early Sep might work, but that would put a 2-3 week playoff right at the start of flu season. But playoff games in warmer climes might mitigate.

then all the kids that have aspirations of getting drafted won't play in the spring. So a lot of good players won't be available for that second season in the spring.
Doubtful weather in spring/summer is prohibitive to playing and making millions. We’re fine forcing a team to play in crazy heat in Waco without tents because of a obscure rule, and playing thanksgiving in below 0 temperatures

I'll pass on March FB. Just cancel it and play normal in Fall 2021. Kids get an extra year if they want.

They can't afford not too. The fiscal disaster this would pose to athletic departments across the country is tremendous.

You’re applying pre-COVID19 logic.

Going March-May is not an issue anymore imo. This is a sport that now has up to a 5 week gap its bowl season/playoffs. Then two months later spring football for a month. You think it’ll be an issue for there to be 3-4 months offseason?

Iowa and ISU play home games in UNI-Dome is how it would work.

A spring season is workable for most players, but could be an issue for elite players who would be eligible for the NFL draft in spring 2021.

To have a 2 month (at most) off season before NFL camps would be little down time. There is an issue today with elite players skipping bowl games. I would expect a lot of elite players to skip their senior year.

Tua benefitted from 5+ months to rehab and ensure getting drafted in the 1st round. With a spring season not sure he would be a 1st round pick.
