Every year I have to point out that it doesn't get warm in Iowa until May. People seem to think March is supposed to be some warm weather month. March is 35-55 degrees on average.

Thank you for your "service."

Another "lets get our hopes up for a major snow storm"..... only wake up from a long weekend and a long Saturday night from the margarita crawl in downtown Ames, to only come up with .5" of snow possible now and maybe even nothing. I'm OK with that.

That margarita crawl wrecked the wife and her friends. It was comical.

Bars were full!! We even went to El Maguey around 9. 46 oz Monster Marg was $10. Had places on the crawl had really bad ones. One I had after they ran out of the special was at Time Out and the worst was The Angry Irishman. London had a good Smokey Robinson one and Cornbread had a really good smoked raspberry one. I guess Della Vita one but never had one as the place was packed.

Thats a big warmup to me though compared to February and January. 40s and 50s to me don't bother me.

Admittedly March 1 is a psychological turning point for me weather-wise. What can I say, it's a coping mechanism.
By March 1 in Des Moines the average high is 42 and rapidly increasing. It's nice knowing any snow isn't going to last in March for too long.

Yes. I was outside working this weekend in just a sweatshirt.

Well technically not just a sweatshirt. I wasn't Porky Pigging it or anything like that.

I'd take 35-55 right now. Even 45 this weekend I pulled the bike down and started getting it ready. Once the snows off the trails, it's warm enough for me.
I like that weather too so long as the wind isn't blowing. Wayyyy better than 90+ degrees. That said...it will be 35 deg on March 15 and someone will complain why it is still so cold. My answer is always that it is still winter.
