I know the "Georges' foot" team has a lot of legends about it, but it did draw an easy path in Kansas City with Embiid out. He absolutely killed us that season.
And George’s foot still killed our possibility of making a deep run in the tourney. KU in 14 when healthy was just a really bad matchup for us. We only lost to UConn by 7, but I sure would have liked to have seen how that would have went with a healthy Niang.

ISU also was pretty bad at Hilton vs. KU that season.

Just looked it up--shot 31.4% overall and 16% from 3. I just remember many of the shots looked 'tight' and were often too strong off the back of the rim.

Niang was 4-20.

Embiid just crushed us on the boards and blocking/altering shots.

Georges having a bad night was Embiid shutting him down.

Embiid erased Georges but without him, KU did not have an answer for him.

Tonight may be the last game Self coaches against Iowa State.

Because of the shoe scandal? Nothing has come from it yet. Did the FBI DOJ decide to do anything? It's been so long I've forgot what's happening with that.

Odds on if this gets more pages than the Texas Gameday thread with people astonished that ISU couldn't win in Lawrence.

Johnny........1-14
Tim.......0-4
LE......2-5
Wayne......1-3
Greg......0-4
Fred.....0-5
Steve.....1-4

So....unless I am mistaken we have won 5 times in 40 years in Lawrence? But yet, like you said.......................................

Remember it like it was yesterday. I've never seen a good player shoot as bad as Georges that day.
