after finding players were paid for work they didn't do..

https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/college/big-12/texas-christian-university/article238566623.html

TCU reported the violations to the NCAA in June 2018, and submitted an additional report in September 2018, after it discovered that players were not clocking out when their shifts ended. The players were on the football and men’s and women’s basketball teams. Their job was to change light bulbs across the campus.

The excess payments totaled almost $20,000 over four years, the NCAA said, and resulted in 22 of the 33 athletes competing while ineligible.

One of those things is not like the other

More has been documented at baylor for sure. But the private schools are always at least a bit more concerning because it is easier to hide **** since they are not subject to state\federal laws regulating freedom of information.

How many schools have a summer program like this?
Not sure how many on the D1 level but Central College in Pella does. I worked with players from Football, Mens and Woman's Basketball, softball, and a few cheerleaders doing summer temp jobs on the grounds crew on campus.

In this day and age, why does a school report its violations to the NCAA? Haven't we learned by now, just deny, deny, deny and the NCAA will put it on a back burner and eventually it just dies from lack of attention?

TCU and Baylor, two fine Christian institutions setting an example for the rest of the nation.

Seems like a very proportionate punishment for the crime compared to Baylor's punishment for covering up 50+ instances of rape.

In case you can't tell, I'm laying on the sarcasm pretty thick.

I get around
$20,000 extra payment over four years and distributed between multiple athletes in multiple sports. That's $5000 over-payment per summer and distributed between what, 10, 20 students. That amounts to something like $500 per student or less, per summer. PEANUTS.

I'm not a fan of TCU or Baylor (I don't think that they should even be in the Big 12) or SMU but something that insignificant compared to what Kansas or North Carolina, etc. does should be just a reprimand or a "don't do it again" letter for their NCAA "letter wall".

deny, deny, deny.....it is cultural now. Then say you don't recall if presented high def, deep-fake-irrefutable video evidence.

Ken Starr was the special prosecutor who got Clinton impeached for lying about having sex with an intern, then Starr goes on to be president of Baylor and participate in the coverup of 50 rapes by his athletes. I'm so sick of all the hypocrisy in our world.
