Lets not pretend ISU players have never done this, wasnt it Babb or Long a few years ago? Played his 10 games and sat the rest of the year because he was hurt?

The difference is that Naz didn't have a strange obsession with Iowa and that game played no part in the timing of him shutting things down.

"Strange obsession"? Yeah, it's totally weird for an in-state player to want to try and stick it to the in-state rival as many times as possible. It's unprecedented, honestly.

To keep talking about ISU throughout the calendar year like he does, I'd consider that a strange obsession, yeah. You'd say the same if they roles were reversed.

When did Babb or Long sit out a game against a nobody to make sure to be able to get Iowa in before shutting it down?

Hard to tell, since ISU has had seemingly zero in-state kids in its rotation for like a decade. But there are plenty of fans who think about Iowa or Iowa State just as much as he does. He hates his in-state rival. That's hardly unusual.

So he played his 10 games and was done. JBo wanted to play against ISU and end it. He could be done for his career with setbacks. might as well go out winning against a team and fanbase that has made fun of him his whole career with the win.

The kid was hurt, wanted to play against some meaningful competition (played 2 big 10 games before ISU) Could not practice but tried to get through 10 games because he could. Just like other players do all the time.

Can you give us some examples?
