KU fans said the same about Self for his first 10+ years at Kansas. Some still say it. Fans A) always say this after losses and B) mostly dont know what they are talking about and C) dont like to admit when their players just get beat, as if speaking poorly of the players is too mean or something.

The knock on Prohm for many fans is that he doesn’t appear to assertively address his players or hold them accountable. It seems there may be a softness or a timidity about him. No one can say that about Self.

Prohm is more like the 'ok, that didn't work, what can I do better to teach them?' kind of coach. You're not gonna see him put his foot in someone's ass like Self, Huggy, etc.

I don’t see any reason to call for Prohm’s firing merely months after he won a Big 12 title with his own team... but hopefully this will motivate the whole team to do better.
This is more a general question but why do people put so much weight on them winning the Big12 tournament title last year. They got a great path for it. It was a ton of fun but it needs to be taken in context. If they went 0-18 then won the tournament does that give him a pass?

It’s amazing how much our fans take so seriously about getting hot for 3 days in KC is such a huge deal. It’s great, but the Big 12 regular season and NCAA tourney is a far far bigger deal.

I guess the Wisconsin coach should go since Rutgers beat them.

Actually Wisky fans are definitely getting ready for a change after several years of Gard. He's also in year 5 of a program lacking an identity and having his best years with players that were already there.

One thing was that they started to get at least a little out of their funk just before the B12 tourney started, so it gave hope that maybe they figured things out.

But just a few days later it was back to poor start, players doing too much, and not much of a plan to make it harder on OSU's big man.

In fairness to Prohm, it wasn't all that different than 2015 when they came out feeling rosy but the first round was a repeat of other games.

Don’t get me wrong I’d rather win the tournament than the regular season as a fan but objectively it’s better to win the regular season.

Give him a pass for what? Did we go 0-18 last year, or are you going to start splitting hairs between 9-9 and 11-7 because.....

objectively it’s better to win the regular season.

who at ISU has done that other than LE two decades ago? You want stuff in "context"........there it is. Because until that becomes a normal thing here at ISU....then enjoy the "tons of fun".

Prohm doesn't need fired, he needs to get his **** together and quit getting embarrassed in Ames on a regular basis. He's tettering on losing the fanbase if they keep getting blown out in Hilton.

Sometimes you will make sense, but other times, like recently in this thread, you go completely off the rails.

You are the last person on this forum to talk about the fanbase being lost, since you will NEVER support Prohm no matter how well he does. NEVER.

You have hated him from the start, and you have admitted as much on this board. Do not insult my or others intelligence by claiming otherwise.
