I would agree that I would rather be ranked at the end of the season, but this is still showing some great respect for our program right now. Putting a number next to our team also might make us a more attractive selection for bowl committees.

Camping World wants us bad. That's the farthest we'd fall, even if we lost.

I'm glad there are still a few weeks left, because as of tonight the CFP/NY6 picture might look something like this:

Peach (semifinal): #1 LSU vs #4 Georgia
Fiesta (semifinal): #2 Ohio State vs #3 Clemson
Rose: #8 Penn State (Big Ten) vs #6 Oregon (Pac-12)
Sugar: #9 Oklahoma (Big 12) vs #5 Alabama (SEC)
Orange: #16 Notre Dame (ACC, but none besides Clemson are ranked) vs #10 Minnesota (highest available from SEC/B1G/ND)
Cotton: #7 Utah (at-large) vs #18 Memphis (highest G5)

On the outside: #11 Florida, #12 Wisconsin

I'd like to see Michigan beat OSU, Wisky beat Minnesota, and Wisky beat OSU in CCG. b1g misses out again.

I'll be very surprised if OSU doesn't roll the next two games.

WI vs. Minny will be interesting. They don't like passes to second or third level.

The CFB committee is a joke. Exhibit A: Florida

Florida has played two FCS teams this year.
Florida, like all SEC teams, only play 4 away games the entire year. All other P5 conferences play 5 away games.
SEC plays 4 non-conference games inflating the overall record of the conference in general.

Last week Florida were ranked #11. The playoff committee doesn't give a crap about SOS when it comes to the SEC. Further proof from the Tampa bay Times.

It won't happen, but i'd love to see the committee punish Alabama and Auburn for basically having a 3rd bye week. Those games should not count as a "data point" as the committee likes to say. If the SEC doesn't get punished for 8 conference games and playing a fourth nobody the SEC (and the ACC for that matter) will never change. Alabama should drop behind OU, I don't care if you won by infinity. It is bush league that they played W. Carolina at all, especially in week 12. Rant over, sorry.

Sadly, it'll never happen. Since its inception, there has always been a SEC majority bias on the CFB committee.

Really don't like the best G5 automatically getting a NYE6 game - Boise could get in just because of easier competition. The G5 should only get in if they are ranked in the top 12 - isn't that the way the BCS was?
