There are ways for Iowa to free up plenty of schollies for all these players they are after, but it still doesn't make sense to reach so desperately for the Murray twins at this stage. It's just beyond puzzling.

Iowa didn't offer them out of HS last year.... so what has changed in that time? Did they play really well this summer in AAU??

It's all just very strange. Nobody else was going to reach for these two, so why now?

Western Illinois pressured them and they gave Fran an ultimatum

I still don't know what to feel. I was so sure we had Vaughn and Barnes yet got blindsided. Seems like unless he just wants to be a Hawkeye, its best for him to be a Cyclone. However, he's half my age so what do I know.

Just leave this here...

@MatthewBain_ Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery stopped by Oskaloosa last week to give a heads up to Xavier Foster's camp that the Murray twins would likely commit, his father and high school coach tell me.

So, Foster knew this was coming.
Well this is just basic math. 2 stars plus 2 stars equals 4 stars. So therefore the Murray bros equal 1 Xavier Foster

Because iowa has way more flexibility than other schools. I wouldn’t say it’s fair but it doesn’t really ever happen unless you have a kid playing for you who can walk on.

To be honest, Iowa has a LOT of players on their roster of walk on quality.

At this rate, I cannot WAIT until guys like Devan Bawinkel and Seth Gorney have college-age kids. Sign 'em up, Fran!
I can't wait to see, 20 years from now, when Connor McCaffrey is co-coaches with an Artificial intelligence grown from DNA harvested from a sock Lute Olson is believed to have once worn, and Gary Dolphin's head in a jar gets suspended 2 games for badmouthing Iowa's 8' legacy center with a 54" wingspan; (son of Adam Woodbury and a Henry Doorly Zoo giraffe) after the freshman got busted for indecent exposure, outside of a Zach McCabe owned porno theater.
