He has never had to start a game, set the edge against the run or play this many plays. Before they brought him in to rush the passer, now he actually has to play the whole position, not just getting sackings.
They also are not moving him around at all, they should be flipping over the right side, every now and then in pass situations.
Iowa coaches just have a horrible time thinking out of the box, and that is one of the main reasons they end up 8-4, 7-5 almost every year.

But "that's the way we have always done it" lol

Not being able to run the ball requires Stanley to have to throw the ball a ton, which is not a good thing. The past two games he's 48/85 for a 56% completion rating, 1 TD, and 4 interceptions. When the pressure has come, Stanley hasn't been able to make the throws and has made some terrible decisions. The blame is two fold.

It starts with the OL though. Stanley has had no time to throw the ball the last two weeks and the running game has been non-existent. The blame is 70% OL, 20% BF and 10% Stanley. The offense has not been good and all of them need to improve to still have a successful season.

Didn't anticipate the interior line getting blown up repeatedly. My bad....
I don't think a lot of hawkeye fans did, granted neither did I. I think most people knew Penn State has a good D, but wasn't quite sold just how good. The interior of the line has struggle 2 games now. Needs to get fixed up quick for them or else it could be a long year.

I think more goes on Stanley than this. Even with time, Stanley hasn't been a world beater. Iowa needs to get its run game going or it could be screwed

Line was easily the biggest problem the last two games. Their ability to not pick up the blitz against Michigan, not protect up the middle against PSU and not able to open holes in the running game against both teams is the biggest reason why the offense wasn't successful these past two games.

You have two first round NFL picks and supposedly the best center in the Kirk Ferentz era on your OL

Those are some wild percentages

Stanley's 3 interceptions in the Michigan game didn't really had anything to do with the offensive line though.. 2 in the Michigan game came from two poor fade / go route throws and the other came from him trying to fit the ball into a tight window on a crossing pattern. The one against Penn State was Stanley panicking a bit when the pressure came and he blindly threw a terrible ball into an area with a ton of white shirts.

I'm not putting all of the blame on Stanley because it's obvious the Hawkeyes have a ton of problems offensively right now, but he has been far from spectacular the past two weeks.

Saw some hok fans complaining he was mainly used only on 3rd downs today too. Apparently that strategy didn’t make any difference.

Know him personally. Daughter went to high school with him. Amazing quality kid from the same kind of family. Y'all ought to move on and find a better use of your time.
So what? Lots of good kids from good families play every weekend. Doesn't mean their performances can't be critiqued. He can be a great person and experiencing a regression at the same time. They aren't mutually exclusive.

No I’d rather talk about his regression

That last sentence is way better if read in the voice of the creepy gas station attendant at the nearly abandoned station out in the middle of nowhere.
