With Wieskamp's age, Iowa will be fortunate if they get him back a 3rd year. He will be almost 21 at the time of the 2020 NBA draft.

It’s kind of the MVC/mid-major approach that Iowa needs to use. Guys that are advanced for their age tend to be the most premium recruits.
I definitely think it's a strategy Mad Fran is using- get guys more physically mature to hopefully offset the disparity in talent and coaching.
Honestly that sounds a little high. I’d set expectations for them at 14th, just to be safe.
Maybe Fran is one of those dads that holds his kids back an extra year before they start 1st grade so they are always "better" (i.e. older) that their peers.
My daughter had a classmate in that situation. Parents told everyone about their plan on holding Lil johnny back out of first grade and he was going to be starting QB in High School.
Spoiler alert- Kid turned out to be less than average athlete.

100% agree. Same way I feel about the Big 12 football all conference teams too. Makes zero sense.
