I actually liked the running game Saturday, if Hall can figure out how to pick up pass protection, he's going to be special. There were a couple of weird run calls on 3rd downs that I questioned but overall, I thought the running game looked improved. I think some are confused because the ball was spread around so much but the backs put up big numbers. If we would have had 1 back go for 150yds on 30 carries, people would have a different view of the run game.
My nit picky gripe of the running game is that I'd like to see Purdy involved more in some designed runs. If this team is going to reach its potential, he's going to need to be a factor in the run game. I think that can be chalked up to first game against a FCS opponent, my guess is we'll see more Brock centered run plays as games get more important.
