I bet other casino's in iowa dont have anything close to this. Most are going to just have a big lines board and some walk up windows to bet at and thats it

That’s cool, my whole point is in my opinion, PM dropped the ball on potentially making something cool they could utilize to crush it.

Has anyone seen the books at other casinos, say Lakeside or Riverside or perhaps the place in Jefferson? I imagine someone has gone all out to try and capture this market. These may also offer opportunities for those who keep Vegas or offshore accounts to middle the bet and go against ISU or Iowa here.

Reverse google image brings up "best Las Vegas sports book"

I'm guessing Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa doesn't have the same money and demand as MGM Mirage in Vegas.

But what would something like this really cost? 100 chairs at $500/each so $50k in chairs and maybe another $50k for the big screen? Add another $100k for A/V. So that's $200k, which is a drop in the bucket. Let's say it cost a cool million, so what people would sit there all day and drink, gamble, and eat.

Yeah... if it was that easy every casino in vegas would do this. the pic was the #1 sportsbook not an average sportsbook

Prairie Meadow's is certainly underwhelming but they at least have something in place and there is always room for improvements.

Watched the ISU/TCU game last year at Harrah's, Las Vegas. Was awesome.

Just got back - my thoughts, which aren’t that great:

- Registration process was fairy quick and easy, but it goes way downhill from here

- Talking to an employee, because of a misunderstanding, they didn’t complete their application for the William Hill app for Iowa to be in the App Store until yesterday. This is a two week process, so it will still be awhile before Mobile is available.

- Your first fund must be in person, every fund after that can be on mobile. HOWEVER, you can’t put funds into your account until your account is created, which takes a few days. This means you have to go to Prairie Meadows to register, then a few days later have to go back to put your money in.

I have the android app on my phone already. You can get it from their website. Though I think apple phones may be different.

Yes - they said the android app should be up and running.

I think you can also just go to their site, however, you need an account and this process takes a few days

Well that's dumb. I figured I'd go up here shortly and be up and running tonight.

Apple is way more protective of their apps. That delay is all on Apple. Not sure on the delay to fund the betting account but I would bet on lots of Federal regulations because of the money involved.

Which goes to my next question... What kinds of documentation do you need to sign up?

The guy seemed pretty confident it was on William Hills end that this wasn’t completed in time - on Tuesday, the Prairie Meadows website said iPhones and iPads will have the app up and running by Thursday. The guy said they had a screwup on their end in getting everything completed for application.

Easy for documentation, just yourself and a form of identification.

I would also suggest a pen, it took 6-7 tries before finding one that worked
