Does this mean cash deposits at Prairie Meadows is the only way to add money to the account or take it out? That's a little inconvenient.
How do I fund my account?
Cash deposits can be made at the William Hill Sports Book at Prairie Meadows.

How do I collect the money I’ve won?
Visit the William Hill Sports Book at Prairie Meadows during operating hours and make a withdrawal. You may also call 855.754.1200 to request a check be mailed to the address on your account.

All along it has been well documented that you have to go to the book to make an initial deposit. It looks like they will mail you a winnings check if you don't want to go there.
I figured you could at least pay with a debit card

I don't mind having to go to the casino to sign up, but having to go there physically to deposit money if/when the initial deposit runs out is unfortunate. With no casino in CR, people will either travel the miles to Riverside or put a lot of money in the initial deposit I suppose.

People in CR should travel to Meskwaki instead so they don't have to drive past Iowa City.

Can we legally use non-Iowa casinos for sports betting now, like My Bookie or Bovada?

Not sure, but honestly also not sure why you would want to. Set up a mobile account with one of the big casinos in Iowa and mobile bet that way. Why bother even risking that offshore stuff if you don't have to. I have buddies that use Bovada and while easy to use and bet, they have had hassles getting their withdrawals. Besides, why benefit some offshore entity when your gambling can benefit your home state?

For lines you can't get here and avoiding the additional taxes Iowa adds. And for those reasons I imagine its still illegal.

From what I understand, the taxes are on the casino, not your winnings. You will pay the standard juice on winning bets, but not taxes on those winnings (unless of course they are big enough that you have to file with the IRS).

From the sounds of it though, having a mobile account won’t be very convenient with having to go into the casino to deposit/withdraw

Yeah, I hadn't seen that - that is unfortunate. I would think that part is temporary - it is 2019 afterall.

It's not a secret that they would prefer people come into the casino to deposit and withdraw money. While there, a lot of people will drop some money in the slots, stick around to bet on some horses, or spend money on food or drinks.

Probably a dumb question, but is the app a Prairie Meadows app or a William Hill app?

I actually kind of like having to go to the casino to do deposits/withdrawals. It's kind of a nice check on not impulsively adding more money.

Because you can deposit money from your phone instead of needing to go into the casino. saves gas and time especially if you are hour or more away from a casino

The head of the gaming commission just said on 1460 that you only need to be at the casino for the first deposit. Any time after that you can remotely deposit money into your account.
