Just curious what everyone's thoughts were on this.

Atlanta will soon ban smoking in their airport. They mostly had smoking areas that were cut off from the terminal with a door and a air vac system but it wasn't perfect. Much like the Vegas system if you've ever seen it.

I think most people would agree that it's a good thing but it's interesting to see the last outposts of the smoking Era slowly fade away.

I never had an issue with them even as a mostly non smoker (Cigars occasionally).

What say you CF?

I didn't realize there were smoking sections at airports. Didn't notice it when I was in Atlanta.

I can't imagine being an addict and having NO option if you're stranded a long while on a delayed flight situation... what with security concerns and all. I see no reason not to accommodate but it's no concern to me at all.

How long until they ban smoking in casinos?

Good question...such a playground of addictions in one place.

I remember going back to CR before they banned it and going out to a few spots. The difference between non-smoking and smoking was incredible. Felt like my hangover was basically doubled from it.

I mean, i see plenty of reasons not to accommodate them. Having special facilities for them with special air-removal costs money, on top of the fact that every bit of square footage at most airports is generally pretty valuable. There's no reason airports should be subsidizing their habit through special accommodations.

I'm ready to ban outdoor smoking too.

Flipping Chicago always has smokers lighting up right outside of the train. Can't get away from the smoke even outside.

Disney World recently banned all smoking from their theme parks. There used to be hidden designated smoking areas but now even those are gone. I'm sure smokers will be ticked but everyone else will appreciate it. Good move by Disney and ATL and I'm sure more public places will follow suit.

People now of days hate cigarette smokers, surprised it took Atlanta so long.

A lot of apartments and public housing ban smoking tobacco. I assume that applies to smoking pot also. But lets face it, where are the pot smokers supposed to smoke? Don't think you want em in cars or for that matter outside their apartment where others are bothered by second hand pot smoke.

So whats the answer, particularly with all the states legalizing it. Only owners of single detached homes can smoke pot?

Hypocrisy at its best.
