Let me educate you
From 2000-2009 Iowa landed 21 4* or higher rated recruits, basically what is called Kirks best years correct?

From 2010 - 2019 Iowa landed 18 4* or higher rated recruits, basically Kirks dark years correct?

2020 and 2021 already have 3 4* or higher guys.

From 2000-2009 Iowa landed 5 guys outside of Iowa and its connected states (geography). (One being Kansas, which is not to far off)

From 2010-2019 Iowa landed 6 guys outside of Iowa and its connected states (still geography).

Using 247

Kirk has not regressed in recruiting. There was a huge lull there for a few year with GD and Kennedy but now it is picking back up.

Didn't Iowa have some loaded classes in the mid 2000s?

Sry, stopped there.

Since you're educating all of us and you seem to have all of the answers I have a question. Why is it that Coach Matt Campbell in year 4 of taking over a pretty pathetic football program is going to be right around Kirk Ferentz in regards to recruiting rankings this year? And why were they right around each other this last year? Kirk has been at Iowa for 20 years and Campbell has been at Iowa State 1/5 of that time, and is right around the caliber that Kirk recruits that. Spew your knowledge.

Chad's quote from his article about Iowa over the weekend:

"What’s the rush to fill up the class with lower-rated prospects? The first signing day isn’t until December."

Would be great if we could land Lachey as one of the guys to round out the class. Am a little wary of a late Ohio St. offer coming in though. Hometown OSU kid, that'd be tough to beat, though we've done it before.

Looked up his sheet and I didn't know Jim Tressel's nephew is the MSU lead and that he's been there a long time on staff.

At least you won't have to worry about the no visit policy with this class

Not exactly sure.
If don’t think Iowa is rewarding a coach just for winning 8 games. Iowa is using the 8 game win mark as an incentive to keep a coach and his staff. The success they have had previously is well beyond just 8 wins.

As far as draft picks not equating to wins it just doesn’t correlate. This isn’t only for Iowa but many other schools. USC and Maryland had as many draft picks in April as Iowa did and they still had a losing record in 2018.

You guys reward a coach for 6 wins.
