Here’s the summer league schedule. That first Friday at Thomas & Mack looks interesting. A few cyclones, Zion vs. Barrett, Michael Porter Jr and the Nuggets. Jeez, anybody want to meet me in Vegas?

Dang. I'm out of the country for the whole duration of the league. I was hoping to catch Marial, Naz, THT and Nick. Georges and Monte won't play and I doubt that Nader will. I wonder if Deonte will?

According to OKC Thunder content on NBA.com, it looks like that Deonte Burton will take part in the Summer League:

Friday July 5 through Monday July 15 – NBA Summer League (Las Vegas)

  • Note: The Summer League schedule has not been announced, but it is likely that Hamidou Diallo, Deonte Burton and the team's 2018 and 2019 draft selections will compete for the Thunder in Las Vegas.

Are 2 way contracts year to year?
Not sure if they HAVE to be but most teams won't give two years, I'm sure. In one year, they usually know enough about a player, I suppose.

Does anyone know how the guard situation is with the Cavs (beyond Sexton and Garland)?

I just did a search on info related to Naz signing with the Cavs for the Summer League and found this on a Fansided site: https://kingjamesgospel.com/2019/06...-will-reportedly-play-cle-summer-league-team/

Some blurbs from that article:

Quality shooter Naz Mitrou-Long will reportedly play for the Cleveland Cavaliers in summer league.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are, as other NBA teams, busy this time of year, as the team just made three first-round selections in the 2019 NBA Draft this Thursday in Darius Garland, Dylan Windler and Kevin Porter Jr., and reportedly signed three undrafted free agents in Marques Bolden, Dean Wade (via two-way contract) and Phil Booth (via summer league deal) that will likely all have ample chances to prove themselves in summer league play.

Cleveland is emphasizing perimeter shooting in the coming years.

Mitrou-Long is a player that isn’t overly athletic by NBA standards, but the 6-foot-4, 218-pound guard has a solid handle, and has shown the ability to shoot it from range, mainly as a catch-and-shoot player, but has progressed in his pick-and-roll ball-handling ability in the G League and is crafty in the lane as a finisher, and might display that a fair amount for the Cleveland Cavaliers in summer league play.

Nonetheless, it’s hard for me to see the Cleveland Cavaliers eventually sign Mitrou-Long to a two-way deal, as he is already 25, and they are reportedly not extending another 25-year-old prior two-way player Jaron Blossomgame (who is a quality defender and more athletic) a qualifying offer this summer.

(My note: I always like Dean Wade as a player. I'm no NBA talent expert but a healthy Dean Wade seems like he could develop as a stretch 4 in the league. Maybe I'm wrong; and maybe he'll never get past these injuries).

I wonder if Euro clubs are taking a look at Naz.

That's awesome for Cam. I don't claim to be an expert on NBA talent evaluation but I am hoping that couple years in the G League can polish his game. It seems to me that he'd have a hard time guarding on the perimeter, which is more important than it used to be for bigs in the NBA. Hopefully, he'll have a good showing in the Summer League and find a landing spot somewhere for 2019-2020. So, the SL for ISU guys looks like the following:

Naz - Cavs; Cam - Magic; Nick - Heat; Wiggs - Toronto; Marial - 76ers; THT - Lakers; Deonte - Thunder

My lunchtime reading: Thunderous Intentions had a good summary of Nader's season and objectives for his off-season. They seem to be keen on him coming back though that's not a 100% proposition (his contract isn't guaranteed). Nevertheless, with their salary cap limitations, Nader can be seen as a bargain. Some blurbs from the article:

Although his 3-point shooting dipped from the previous season his overall efficiency improved from the field.

(Regarding his very low assist percentage): Since he doesn’t tend to play beside Westbrook, rather as a reserve with Dennis Schroder this either speaks to Schroder occupying the ball primarily or Nader not recognizing open teammates.

His best performance of the season occurred on December 28th versus the Phoenix Suns when he scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and hit two of his four 3-point attempts. In the video below we get a good look at his impeccable shooting form, gooseneck follow through and all as he swishes the 3-pointer.

A key takeaway from Nader’s double-digit games is the OKC Thunder were 8-1 when he scored more than 10 points!

Still, the true value of Nader was never fully recognized. The Egyptian is one of the few players on the OKC Thunder with the capacity to create his own shot and for others. As the reserve unit frequently struggled this was an area while perhaps not fully recognized this season bodes well moving forward.

Abdel Nader may be the most logical of all the youngsters in house prepared to take a step forward.

In the "highlights" section, there are some good clips that show what Nader can do. Here's a link to the article: https://thunderousintentions.com/2019/05/21/okc-thunder-player-review-abdel-nader-untapped-talent/

I see the Nuggets have signed Tyler Cook to a partially guaranteed contract. Maybe they're looking for someone to hand Monte water and towels ....

Partially guaranteed can mean a lot of things when your agent says that is what you got to the media lol

Interesting response to Nuggets legend Alex English; what a year Monte had (he's brought his jumper a long way since his freshman year at ISU):

No ex-Cyclones are involved in significant free agent deals, of course. Most have a contract that will become guaranteed in the coming 2 weeks, if I'm not mistaken.

But the signing of Bojan Bogdanovic by the Jazz doesn't HELP Georges Niang's chances for playing time, even though it helps the team and they don't play the same position in most definitions. But he is a fantastic 3-pt shooter and the Jazz were short in this area, which would be positive for Georges, in terms of the need for one of his top skills. But NBA teams often have 2 specialists (one in each corner most of the time, it seems) or more on the court at once, so I imagine it won't have a huge, direct impact. But I think it could have SOME effect on Georges. I'm just hoping they don't find a legit stretch 4 on the market.

EDIT: The more that I've read about how they will probably use Bogdanovic, the more it seems like he will take up minutes at the 3 and 4, which certainly will impact Georges. On the other hand, maybe they're committed enough salary cap that they need "cheap" bench parts like Georges.
