That is very impressive. It's a little weird having voices with the characters now, but I don't mind it. If they get this out and could redo IX, I would be very happy.

I don’t hold out much hope for this. The completely changed battle system will turn off purists that just wanted a visual facelift and not a complete redesign of game mechanics.

I was similarly disappointed by the Resident Evil 2 remake. In the original game there was enough ammo to actually take out most enemies, in the remake you spend most of your time running away from them because ammo is so damn scarce. Hell even the knife would break after a few uses, it was ridiculous.

I haven't played any Final Fantasy games in almost 20 years. The last one I played was all cut scenes, with a few minutes of play between each one.
You can download most of them on android now. I just bought 9. I never got a chance to play that one and am looking forward to it.

I really dislike what Kingdom Hearts became by the third game. I never got far in FFVII because my file would always corrupt towards the end of the first disk and I couldn't figure out how to fix it.

I was really hoping for a remastering where they just upgraded graphics/fixed bugs since that would give me an opportunity to complete it the way it originally was. I'm not as excited about a remake that is more KH-like combat.

Two immediate questions:

1. How can you toughen up the look of chocobo racing?

2. I hope you can still rename the characters. That was one of my favorite parts of the original. Like, Gun-Arm Guy looks pretty cool in here.

I have to say other than the combat system it looks like they’re being incredibly faithful to the original. Well that and sizing down Tifa’s boobs to a tasteful d-cup instead of her previous porn star tits.

Excited for this, I'm also really enjoying the xbox one version of the original. Able to play through the game at 3x speed without having to worry about random battles

Is this a PS4 exclusive?

It is being labeled as such. It might come to PC or other consoles in the future, but I imagine if you want to play it in the first year it would be one PS4/PS5.

I have to keep convincing myself not to pre-order the $329 collectors edition. This is my 2nd favorite game of all time and everything shown so far looks amazing. Its going to be weird though since this part of the remake all takes place in Midgar.

I'm very much looking forward to this, but it's a little disappointing that they're doing the game in episodes. I suppose the story surrounding Midgar is going to be the first part and they don't even know when they will do the 2nd. That's when the world somewhat opens up.

This could be a 10 year deal for them, maybe even longer. Makes it hard to get too invested to buy when I know Square-Enix could GRRMify FF7R.
