They only play ball 4 months out of the year? No practice, training, video sessions, camps, etc. the rest of the year?!

They are getting paid to do all the above, not just show up to games 4 months out of the year. So no, $41,965 per year is not good.

Actually it IS only 4 months - for example BC will go to Australia and play after the WNBA season and get paid to play there and then after that season ends she will (hopefully) play with the Canadian National Team. They do not have responsibilities for their WNBA team after the season ends until Training Camp the next year

Many of them play year-round and the WNBA bridges the gap from the end of their overseas season to the start of the next one. The WNBA has the highest level of competition and is a good showcase but doesn't offer many of them the chance at big bucks.

It looks like Bridget did not get any PT in her first WNBA game. The Sun picked up a W though.

Its got to feel crazy to go from being "the player" for your whole career to not even getting in the game. It takes some incredible mental toughness to work through a stage like this. You know it is just a matter of time until she comes in and contributes significantly.

I just get some personal satisfaction from this because on some thread on here a while back I stated that if I were a GM in the WNBA I'd take Bridget over Gustafson every time. Nothing against Gustafson at all, I just felt that Bridget's game translated a lot better to the WNBA.

And of course some Hok lovers told me I was just a homer and clueless. All they pointed to were Gustafson's stats, and I swear they probably never seen either girl play ball.

If you watched both of them play, Bridget was just a lot more skilled all around, and most importantly could shoot from distance.

That's cool that you get personal satisfaction watching somebody who has been nothing but class fall short in their dreams, all because some online folks got your feelers hurt. You do you, man.

Hope your back's not sore after that big stretch. Megan is a good ball player, but Bridgette is better suited for the pro game. Bluder put a nice team together last yr with enough outside shooters to help her out. She was able to dominate inside but the competition just gets bigger and stronger in the WNBA.

12th player on a good WNBA, short of injures, isn't probably going to play much. Might be a Alison Lacey redux when she was on the Storm roster that one season.

Come on. 99% of us are extremely proud of our state's two best WBB players from this season. If you poke the 1%, you are the problem.

I am glad for Bridget and sad for Megan. Both played hard and ultimately it is coaches decision on who to keep. Aus and BC are fine examples of ISU and being chosen to play on a roster shows their skills and dedication. European and Australian leagues are not a bad gig to see the world - if that is your dream then go for it!

Some research tells me Mohegan Sun Arena is part of a casino/resort. So it's possible to go watch Bridget play, do some gambling, and get blasted without having to go anywhere. Sounds like a CF road trip is in order.
