Got 2 1/2 soft serve ice cream in the freezer. Have 3-4 cases of water. Couple dozen regular cupcakes. Some bags of chips.

Although, there were a few wives complaining about our food. Stuffing their spouses with ribs, beans and ice cream was a combo that had them concerned for later at home.
We're not getting a soft serve machine, the cupcakes won't stay good for that long, SIL works for a chip company. We're coming to Iowa for orientation on June 9. Can you leave the bottled water on the southbound side of 35? We'll pull over and pick it up on our way past.

We would, but our orientation is the 17th and we won't be making it over there in time. We will hide it behind an overpass when we go down. We will put it the first one south of Clear Lake.

......Wait, what day is your graduation? If you have orientation on the 9th, when is graduation? Wouldn't that be afterwards?

BTW: ice cream is made and frozen in ice cream buckets. Pre-made.

Son got his final report card and he made a hard surge over his final two semesters. If he could have applied for scholarships with the final gpa and rank he would have been way better off. A couple he missed eligibility because they only allow the top X amount to apply. He was X plus 1 after first semester and made X by the end.

Makes me feel better about college. Odd group, 66-70% going JUCO route, about 8% going 4 year and rest hitting work or military. In my day JUCO and 4 year were 50-50.
4 year schools keep getting more expensiver. JUCOs keep adding new and practical programs. They've really become a pretty good system for people to get educated in a constructive manner quickly and in a cost-effective manner.

Graduation is June 2. Our party is 3 weeks later.

Put the water on the northbound side under the overpass. My parents can pick it up on their way up.

Pack the ice cream in dry ice and send it up via courier. You can pay the courier charges since you'll just be happy to get it out of your freezer.

I understand the technical and specialist areas. There are several that are saying they want to go on for four years but plan to live in the dorms and everything. Sons girlfriend and a few others did the JUCO route the last couple years and said they regret it. CCs keep saying it all transfers but upon transferring, they find out it doesn’t and another semester is added and wiped out the savings.

ICCC here has an enrollment approaching 7,000. They must be doing something right. Plus they are constantly putting up expensive new buildings.

(Waiting for the tuition increase announcement)

The invite to RTTers was put out on here, you could have showed. There were several that I had no idea who they were, but I slapped some ribs on their plate.

I did try to buy off our Pastor. He said he loved ribs so I kept adding until he said he had enough, had about 2/3rds of a rack by the time he thought it was enough. He then had some beans, which a friend of the wife made. Had bacon and everything in it. Mrs. Pastor probably was not pleased by bedtime.

The pressing question is were they baby backs or spare ribs?

When I make a mess of pinto beans (we call them Texas Strawberries), I use hamhocks, bay leaves, black pepper, cayenne pepper, onion, garlic & tabasco. One bowl is usually good for some musical tooting. Two bowls is a mistake... ;)

You do know that the sale of indulgences was cancelled by the church for over 450 years ago, right?

Loin ribs. Tender and meaty. I ate four ribs for lunch and I'm stuffed.
It's incredible how meaty those loin ribs can be. I did a couple of racks of them last Monday night and pulled them after over 5 hours. Nice and tender but they could have used another 30 minutes to get where I want them. But it was 10:45pm and I wanted to get to bed before midnight.

When I became a "Catlicker", as my wife's grandmother called it, my FIL gave me a rosary he had gotten from his mother when he joined the navy. It came with an indulgence that required him to say a series of prayers with it to receive absolution for missing Mass - often difficult to avoid at sea.

MrsWx sent me a job posting from the Twin Cities. I think I would like the job but am getting anxiety just thinking about it.

With the CCs, the odds are also that the instructor is just winging it as an adjunct. There's just no way to actually put forth a professional effort for the pay and lack of resources they provide for instructors.

It's really a case of getting what you pay for, or likely a lot less.
