He can upgrade but the alimony check would make me ill too.
Yeah I've seen a couple interviews with her and she seemed a bit "different" to say the least. But like you said those payments are going to be painful.

I’ll never understand why we didn’t resign Chapman. He’s well worth whatever he was asking for.

It's because the front office has some philosophy that they won't commit big long term dollars to a closer. Apparently they feel it's not good to tie up big money over multiple years to a closer and the money is better used elsewhere but as we know the Heyward, Darvish, and Chatwood contracts have not turned out so well either. I would assume they will be in the market for a closer in the last year of his contract at the deadline

Also an interesting read: https://yanksgoyard.com/2016/12/19/cubs-allow-chapman-go-back-yankees/ I'm sure Maddon's use of Chapman also would not have helped matters if the Cubs were serious about re-signing him.

I can't see the game - was Darvish getting squeezed by the HP Ump on the Anderson AB? Game tracker has two of the four balls in the zone.

Joe is going to have a tough decision this inning if someone gets aboard and the pitcher spot comes up. Tough call whether to pinch hit for Yu.
